I'd like to get a chalkboard to take pictures with each week during my pregnancy. I am thinking about starting next week when I'm 8 weeks. I have no idea where to get one of these chalkboards, though. Where did you get yours?

@autumnlove: Thanks! I was thinking Michael's or Hobby Lobby would be a good place to start.
@MrsBrewer: Thank you!

I got a small one at michaels or ac Moore- its about 5 x 7. It's a little small though. I saw cute and inexpensive 8x10 ones on etsy--- like under ten dollars. The one I have was under two dollars though.

If you can't find one, what about painting glass of any frame you like with chalkboard paint? Then you can go as plain or funky as you want for the frame part!

Any craft store would have them. I bought a white erase board at Hobby Lobby, was $6, and it works great!

I couldn't find one, so instead I took an old picture frame, put in some pretty scrapbook paper, and wrote on it with a dry erase marker!

@sorrycharlie: That's a really good idea!

I was thinking of doing the chalkboard paint but the paint was more money than a whole chalkboard. I also went with the cheap light weight one because I figure I can use it for baby month photos too-- lightweight in case he or she grabs at it. But I've seen really nice homemade ones.

I really wanted one with a cool frame, but couldn't find one in time. Got mine at Home Goods. Even though it was already chalkboard, it would scratch really easily so I bought a little can of chalkboard paint. They even had spray paint can and chalkboard paper for less $ too if you want.
