Do you guys believe in the old wives' tale about gender prediction?
Supposedly, a girl will steal her mama's beauty, and a boy will make mama "glow".
Well, I'm currently told it's a girl and I gotta say I don't have ANY "Glow"!
My eczema has flared up terribly and I can't use any of my meds, my face is super dry yet I have pimples dotted all over my face like a 15 year old boy! When I asked my GF that just had her baby boy, she said "Yes! I think I WAS glowing!"

No glow for me (having a girl). I've had breakouts in places I never had breakouts before in my entire life, like all over my chest.

@highwire: Misery loves company...I'm glad the icky chest breakouts aren't just me! I don't feel physically glowy (see: breakouts everywhere), but I feel happy-glowy a lot of the time. Does that count?! And, for the record, I don't know yet whether I've got a boy or a girl in there.

I had a boy, and I didn't think I had any "glow" (besides maybe the sheen of sweat...). Some people claimed I did, but it was usually when I took the time to put on makeup and do something with my hair besides throw it in a ponytail or bun. I broke out like crazy and was sick pretty much the whole pregnancy.

I'm having a girl and have had the best skin during pregnancy. I've been told I glow.

Oh, also, absolutely zero people have told me that I am glowing...and I'm almost 32 weeks lol.

I'm having a boy and no glow whatsoever. Breakouts everywhere and super greasy hair.

I'm having a girl and looked shocking for the first five months. But now people are always telling me I look well. I'm not sure I have a glow though, more of a sweat from being so fat and tired : )

I had a girl. No glow, but I didnt get uglier either. I just stayed the same. My hair did stop growing though. all of it, all over my body and head.

I'm having a girl, and I am a skin-fanatic, and mine hasn't changed much...However I am more likely to get those annoying underground pimples on my face! But fortunately, they just come one at a time!
She made my legs really big though! Now my tummy is so huge that it dwarfs my big legs, so I'm pretty grateful for that optical illusion!!!
Sometimes people tell me I have a glow but I think that's just bronzer and self-tanner-lol;)

@jholler25: My legs have grown too - I'm like the hulk!!! Really hoping they go back down when she pops out.

I'm having a boy and my skin looked terrible in the beginning. I had breakouts all over my chin and neck and bumps all over my forehead. Around 20 weeks (maybe ?), it started to clear up. Now my skin looks MUCH better.

i'm having a girl and there is no glow here. my skin is awful!

yep. having a girl and my face has been horribly broken out the entire time. add that to throwing up from 6 weeks to 40 weeks (which I am now!) and yeah...there's NO glow.

did you see the "What To Expect..." movie?
I had a boy and I ballooned! I had so much water weight I could press dimples (it's calling 'pitting edema') into my skin that would last for a few minutes. I just looked like a greasy butter ball, haha -
I had a boy but never felt any of that alleged glow!
People loved to say I had it, but I pretty much felt like crap the whole time. I think nesting is a myth too.

LOL Ladies! Omgosh @Jessiebee is right, misery does love company and you ladies have made me feel better with some laughs (because I can totally relate!) And I guess we all prove the old wives' tale wrong - it can go either way!
@jholler - Yes! "Underground pimples" - such a great description! I've had one for weeks that the esthetician wouldn't even touch! And just noticed my thighs are starting to get big. Maybe belly's gotta catch up soon so I can have an optical illusion too!
@rachiecakes - Best thing I got out of that movie was the girl with the easy sailing, wonderful glowy pregnancy had a tough baby vs. the tough and rough pregnancy had an easy baby!
@livsmama - Interesting! I just got my hair cut a few weeks ago so I haven't noticed if it grows or not. BUT I have noticed my eyelashes seem extra short and sparse lately!

I'm having a baby boy and some sweet folks at church have said I"m glowing but I always tell them its make up! I definitely do not glow when I'm bare faced - ha!

I'm having a boy...so I'm supposed to be glowing...but I don't think I am nor has anyone told me I am. In fact, my skin got SUPER dry and I can't even wax my eyebrows anymore without bleeding (I still do it though). So, I'm waiting for some moisture to return to my skin! Thank goodness I won't be pregnant during winter time.

Is this pregnancy glow a myth? I certainly don't have it!

I was told I had a glow by a few people - but I think they just said that because I was happy! Two of my girlfriends told me I looked different just before I told them I was preggo at like 5 weeks too.
I am having a boy - my skin was bad in the beginning, but for the last month or two it has been super clear which is rare for me. (I'm 36 weeks)
