@Mrs. Pen: @Mrs. Champagne: oh I hope Willa isn't a trendy name! It was my great grandmothers name so it has a lot of sentimental value because she was such an awesome lady.

@cascademom: @Grace: @Ree723: thanks for the nickname suggestions.

@BabyBoecksMom: ah I'm feeling like trendy isn't the word I'd use! I don't know, more unusual. Like I think everyone knows a few Caroline's. But I don't know any Willa's. Harper just seems like it goes better sound wise, but I think it's super popular/trendy. I'm trying to think of another classic name like Willa that is not as used as Caroline! Like Willa and Ruby?

I do like both names though, so I don't think you can really go wrong!

I think Harper is better with Willa. Caroline doesn't seem to fit to me.

I love Caroline! I know a Caroline who goes by the nickname 'Carley' and I really like that name too.

Caroline. Caroline could be spunky or elegant. It doesn't pigeonhole her by age or personality. And I must be in the minority given its popularity, but I just don't care for Harper. I think it's the harpy connotation. I also agree about it's being dated in the future.

I'm partial to Caroline since it was my grandmother's name and I'm keeping it in the back of my head if we have another baby and it's a girl.

A NN that comes to mind is Caddie, like Caddie Woodlawn the classic book. The character's full name is Caroline.

I think Harper sounds better with Willa, but I voted Caroline. Harper is almost too popular right now (on par with Sophia in my circle). Maybe Caroline Harper?

Harper was one of our top name choices for a girl (we had a boy). So I love that name and I think it sounds great with Willa. But I think Caroline sounds better with your last name. So I lean more towards Caroline!

I like the sounds of Caroline Bock better than Harper Bock. Love the name Harper though so if you don't have a middle name picked out yet then I would throw Harper in there. =)

I voted for Caroline because it was on my short list of girl's names, along with Annabel, Juliana, Madeline, and Matilda. But we are having a boy!

The ONLY reason I was leaning against it was that it was in the top 100 names. Caroline was 80th in 2012. We were aiming for under the top 100 for girls, and under the top 50 for boys.

Harper was 24th in 2012, versus 296th in 2008. So, it's increased a lot in popularity over the past five years and would be too popular for me, personally.

@ElbieKay: I had no idea that Caroline was that popular. We just heard a little girl called that when we were on vacation and thought it was such a cute name.

Caroline is beautiful and sounds perfect with your last name! Nickname ideas: Cara (care-a), Caro (like the syrup haha but still cute?), Lina (Lye-nah or Lee-nah), Linny, Carly, Carrie...Carol?
