@NorthStar: I grew up in a small, rural town where everyone was Republican, and this is exactly what's happening. All the people I grew up with are so anti-Clinton, it's crazy! I don't understand it at all, but there is a hatred there. The whole "lock her up" chant scares me. These are the people who are excited to vote. Meanwhile, the Democrats have had lower voter turnout in key demographics like African American.

What the hell, seriously. This just makes me more pissed off at the third party (Johnson, seriously??) voters.

@aprild: A lot of my extended family lives in rural areas and are highly uneducated beyond high school. I'm seeing them post on FB and it's ALL trump. I grew up mostly near a City and have my college degree, so this is SO upsetting for me. I seriously feel like I'm going to throw up.

@aprild: same, I grew up in the conservative Christian community and still live in my hometown. I live in a blue state (don't have my states results yet), but my county is always red. I see so many who so adamantly refuse to vote democrat that even if they find Trump despicable, they vote party platform- they want to vote republican for the sake of voting republican.
I gave up my republican roots a couple years ago. I cannot be associated with this. Ugh.

@Truth Bombs: I know, right?! I'll be lucky to retire because of this dang election.
@Freckles: My dad considered doing third party, but didn't since the election was close. So, he voted Clinton. But, I have no doubt that there many that voted third party. This is so F'd up.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@Freckles: I don't mind so much when third party votes in a state that's overwhelmingly blue/red... but Ohio, Michigan, Florida- etc- you have to know the consequences of voting third party!

@Truth Bombs: Agreed. In other news, I happen to be randomly in the double VIX (UVXY) so my portfolio will have a great day.

@Mrs. Pen: @aprild: Yep, same here. Small, southern community and 90% of my FB feed consists of Trump supporters. They HATE Hillary (and mostly all democrats). It's been really hard for me to hold my tongue.

Does anyone know what time all the votes are counted? I don't want to stay up all night, but it's hard to stop watching. I keep hoping she'll pull ahead again

I'm in physical shock right now (yes, even though all my rural conservative friends/relatives have been talking Trump for months, I was counting on the non-southern states!)

I am beyond upset. I don't even know what to with myself...

Im in NC and was really hoping for an HRC win but it is not looking good local results are more up to date than google

@Mrs. Lion: It's terrifying. My county was overwhelmingly for Trump, but I was hoping the triangle/charlotte areas would balance it out. And I reallyyyyy want Cooper to win (my husband and sister are teachers and we need McCrory out!).
pear / 1809 posts
@Mrs. Lion: This is so shocking! How can people vote for McCrory after all the HB2 drama? I thought for sure he was on his way out
blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts
@lilteacherbee: Fellow teacher here as well. McCrory has got to go. I literally cannot believe he is ahead.
I am so sad

New York Times has 82% chance that Trump will win presidency, even with Clinton winning the popular vote. This makes no sense! I don't understand why the people can't choose the president.
blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts
@aprild: I have literally no idea. Except I have heard plenty of people who support it too. Lots of ignorance

I don't care about Johnson votes, most of the people who voted for him would have otherwise voted for Trump It's the Stein votes that get me riled up.... Stein wouldn't know what to do with the presidency!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@Freckles: Frankly, the majority of folks I know who voted Johnson did so instead of Trump. It was either Trump or Johnson for them - they weren't going to vote for Hillary for any reason. I don't think it affected Hillary that much to be honest.

Watching CNN right now and I'm sick to my stomach. I can't believe how well Trump is doing. This is disgusting. I'm disgusted by so many Americans right now. This is not my country. This is not what my country stands for. I'm just praying Trump is getting an early lead and Clinton will still pull ahead of him.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@aprild: So many people support HB2. It makes me ragey, but I see it all over my FB. I've hidden/unfollowed an insane amount of people this election season.

This doesn't surprise me. 25 years of slashing education, breaking unions, demonizing intellectualism and education, demonizing Clinton, telling rural white men that it's everyone else's fault they are not in total control has results.
538 is now predicting trump. I can't with the hate and short sidedness in this country right now.

@coopsmama: agree on the Johnson votes - those were not lost Hillary votes.

@yoursilverlining: I agree with your analysis, although FiveThirtyEight just updated giving Clinton a 52% chance of winning. Please please please...

I am literally sitting here crying because I am so terrified that Trump is going to win. I am so disappointed in our country right now. This is horrifying.

@coopsmama: @DesertDreams88: you're right- I can't help feeling this way right now though! Feeling sick seeing 4% Johnson votes in MI.

@NCSUchick27: I'm disappointed too. I'm hoping things turn around for Clinton, but it's looking less probable as the night goes on
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Mrs. Pen: I don't think it's necessarily because they vote republican. I think it's because the new president will determine how the Supreme Court will look (tip the scale) and they want a more conservative court.

This is craziness!!! And I don't know how much longer I can stay up!!

@snowjewelz: you're an hour ahead of me and I'm about to call it a night! This is absolutely insane.

@snowjewelz: I don't know how much longer I can make it either but I'm also so scared to wake up to a "surprise" Trump presidency that I don't want to go to bed!!
kiwi / 556 posts
I am legitimately afraid for the future with a Trump presidency and a republican congress. I am in my first trimester and I'm so emotional and just in a state of panic. I almost cried putting my daughter to bed just now because I was so worried about her future and my pregnancy and what kinds of things his presidency will change for women.
pear / 1809 posts
I'm getting really tired, but I'm also scared to go to sleep and wake up to a Trump presidency. This is not how I thought this election would play out. I'm so disappointed.
