Do you & SO have a name for the baby in your belly?
We called M lentil bean; that's the "size" she was that week and it stuck. haha We were trying to think of other "beans". Fava bean? haha

We called ours the bean, too! It has stuck and now, at six months, even her nan calls her Bean! When she grows out of her clothes quickly she's "String Bean". When she is in the Jumperoo she's "Mexican Jumping Bean". When she's in the walker, she's "Runner Bean"!

Chloe named our baby Charlotte.
I asked her what if it's a boy? And she said "hmm... Baby take a bath!"
So we stick with baby Charlotte LOL

We usually call him whatever fruit or veggie he is for the week. Right now it's butternut squash!

We suck at nicknames. And in the first trimester I was very (maybe too?) pragmatic and trying not to get attached in case something happened, so we called her "the embryo." Then "the fetus." After my anatomy scan when she looked like a person we just started calling her "the baby." And now we call her Fiona haha.

we called DS "rocco" even though we were team green.
we don't have a name that has stuck so far with this one. DH suggested "tie" the other day b/c this one will break the boy/girl tie on his side of the family. i'm not in love with it.

@locavore_mama: Skeletor because at our 20 week ultrasound the kid turned and stared directly at us and its face just looked like a skull!
Malden because SIL gave us a 12 month picture collage frame and in the space for the newborn picture it has a sample baby picture and the word Malden underneath.

We called LO mungbean when I was pregnant now we just call her variations on bean, or sometimes The Bean. It's stuck,,, we prob call her that more than her given name!

When I was pregnant with P, I (and my officemates) called her Renesme because she felt like she was trying to kick and claw her way out. Yes, lame Twilight reference. haha

For some reason, we just refer him to "that guy" unless we're mentioning him by name, lol.

We've been calling him/her Noel for now, since he/she is our Christmas miracle!

@buffalove: Breaker? Sounds like a little surfer baby that way. Hehe.
We call ours a nickname that's close to DH's nickname for me, but what was adorable is that my 7 year old cousin was seriously very concerned that we not name her that in the end. He had a few heart to hearts with his grandma to make sure she convinces us to use a "normal" name. LOL.

We're not very good at calling the baby anything. Nothing has really stuck, except little one.

We called him tater tot until we found out he was a boy and settled on his name. Now we call him by his name, which coincidentally starts with a T. Lol

We called them the parasites at first, but my dad was less than thrilled that "his grandchildren" were being called parasites. Once we found out the sexes, we called them little girl and little boy until we decided on names. Now they are Alice and Blake!

Just "the baby" until we found out the sex at 12 weeks. Then it was baby boy. We still call him that if we're talking to each other.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
He was fruit/veg of the week for a while "the sweet pea" "the blueberry" "the lemon". Then when we officially decided to be TG we tried using unisex names (like Frances). Eventually he just became Bebe, then McK Bebe, then McBebe, which is what he stayed until the end.

R was tater tot- either Tate or tot for short and this babe is potato puff- puff for short. DH likes potato references!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
This time we're just referring to him/her by "the new baby" since our DS is still a baby himself. DH called DS "bun bun" the entire time he was in utero though.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
we usually call her "the little miss" or by her name. Before we knew the sex, we usually just said "the baby" which is super creative, right? haha

Boba Fett (we were watching Empire Strikes Back when we decided on that).

Kraken, he seems to be everywhere at once (lots of tentacles?). Now that we have a name it's awkward what to call him, it will probably still stick as a nickname once he's on the outside.
pear / 1823 posts
We called him Jughead because they kept saying his head was measuring really big. Mean, I know

Punkarelli
DH thought it was the long form of "Punk" in terms of a disruptive person. I thought it was funny, and started referring to all children as punkarellis. So, baby in my belly was our punkarelli.

@twodoghouse: wow, I remember u just starting the whole process.... It's already been over 4 months?! Time flies so quickly!
We are boring. Just call it baby.
pear / 1718 posts
Poppyseed or Poppy. He was the size of poppyseed when we discovered he was in there so that's what we called him that first week. It stuck!

I call the baby booklet, because my DH and I are in church musicals where we are big singing songbooks and our children in the show are booklets (Psalty, anyone?) DH calls the child all the horrible names I would never let him actually name it.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
We called her Nugget, or Nuggs, even after we knew the gender. We keep her name a secret so we didn't even call her by her name so I wouldn't slip up!
coconut / 8483 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: lol you can just bath that penis right off if it's a boy! So funny.
We call the baby coco! Ever since I started using a lot of cocoa butter around week 11 DH has called him that. Now I feel like it's going to be a life long nickname for the poor little guy. We will see
