DH is stricter than I am. I think some of it has to do with I'm home with her more so sometimes I just don't have the energy. LOL not a good excuse!
He thinks I need to be stricter - I don't disagree- and I think he needs to be less strict sometimes. Sometimes I feel like he expects too much out of a almost 3 year old. He doesn't think I give enough credit to how smart she is.

Definitely DH...I keep gently reminding him to pick his battles, because they will be many! He wants to bend LO's will to his, so it's going to be interesting to watch. I tend to stay firm, but calm, and let most things go unless it's direct defiance or hitting in the face.

me! For sure. I mean, LO is only 19 months but I have 'rules' about eating (she will sit in her chair, she won't throw food, she will practice using her utensils) and DH will like, feed her on the couch, with him doing all the feeding instead of letting her self-feed, and he will let her play with toys or run around while she eats. It drives me nuts.
Also, when she whines or tantrums, I totally ignore or just redirect--DH is a total softie and will like, hold her for an hour if it stops her whining. Not me! I feel like I need to train her that I won't respond to that kind of behavior.

Depends on the topic. I think I'm the one that's more hands-off when it comes to him exploring, playing independently (within reason) while DH is very cautious about safety first. But when it comes to meal, sleep, etc. I'm more of the schedule person than DH. Though we are both very interested in the types of food DS eats! I think it's a good mix for us right now!

I'm more strict about sleep and food, DH is more strict about behavior and discipline.

He is by far. He thinks I need to be stricter, so I try... But to him, strict is loud and I'd rather not yell. I mostly get kids to do what I want other ways.

It's absolutely me. DH is very laid back and would let her run amok if he could, I think. I have expectations of her that I expect her to meet and rules I expect her to follow.
Honestly, I think it's because that's how I was raised and DH was raised a lot less strictly.

DH thinks because I am not raising my voice I am not in control. I just don't think we need to yell and that we should ask her to do things, not tell.

He is. He doesn't want to let her touch or play with anything if it's not explicitly hers and I don't see why she can't as long as it isn't dangerous

Neither of us are very strict, but I guess I would be a little more firm/strict just because I'm around her more.

Definitely me, but he's trying to be on the same page because we 're realizing that she really needs to see what her boundaries are. ... it's exhausting

Me. I don't yell. I do more of a quiet glare that makes my 2.5 yo stand at attention. I got that from my Dad DH is a pushover but has a tendency to yell when he gets frustrated. It truly doesn't work as well at getting LO to behave.

@regberadaisy: DH is by far. I like you am home with them all day (plus WAH) so I just don't have the energy. I try to be stricter but feel bad.

I think I'm more strict, but it's because I pay more attention to what DS is doing that DH does.
However, DH has the strict "tone", and uses it way more frequently than I'd like.

OH me, and DD knows it! She knows daddy is a pushover and I comment on it all the time. I'm like "dude you are the boss, you need to tell her no!" haha
