I knew a few when I was in high school (or when I had just graduated, the seniors a year behind me)...my mom had me a month after she turned 18.
edit - which may offer an explanation to those of you who were thrown off by my recent IG photo of my dad with O LOL!

A girl that came through our program was I think 16. She has done such amazing things, getting her ged & on her 3rd year of college to get her pt assistant cert! Her testimony is a fantastic one!

I had a friend in HS who was 14 when she got pregnant. She had her daughter 2 weeks after her 15th birthday, right after we finished 9th grade. I think she's the youngest I personally know.
My stepsister was 16 when she got pregnant (17 when she gave birth) and I have 2 friends who got pregnant at 18-19.

@runsyellowlites: that's amazing! This girl....is not.
I won't elaborate since this isn't gold.

Good question! I think most of the young moms I know were at least out of high school.

I work at a childcare facility and the youngest mom I know was 12 when she got pregnant. She is now 14 and her 18 month old son is in my class.

@regberadaisy: Well coming to our home really made a huge difference. Had that not happened she likely would've ended up in jail & her son would've grown up in the same kind of life she had in poverty & abuse.

My cousin was 17 when she had her baby. My sister told me yesterday that a girl she used to dance with announced she's pregnant (the girl is 15), but I don't personally know her.

My cousin had her son when she was 16. He just turned 4. My mom got pregnant with my at 19. Her sisters both got pregnant at 17. My stepmom had my brother when she was 19. I know a lot of people who had babies young.

I was a teen mom and know quite a few teen moms, the youngest being 14 when she got pregnant, 15 when her daughter was born.

I don't really know any young moms. Everyone I know IRL with kids had them in their late 20s.

Oh I just remembered, I knew a girl who had 3 kids by the time we graduated high school. She had the first when she was 13. All 3 shared the same dad and she was able to stay in school somehow.

@CharityAnne: O_o what?! 12? Geez. Poor thing.

My younger sisters best friend got pregnant with her first when she was 15. She married the father, they're still together and she had a second before she was 18. She's wonderful

I had a student who had a baby when she was 12. Very bad situation. I have several students in past years who have gotten pregnant at 14, had the baby at 15.

One of my cousins had her first baby at 17. There was also a girl in my high school who got pregnant at 17.
@CharityAnne: *cries* 12 is too young to have sex!

14 and delivered at 15. I know way too many girls who have birth at 15/16. A girl I graduated with (and DH used to date!) is pregnant with her 3rd at 20. With the 3rd different father..

wow... So hard for such young women to have children - i can't imagine how difficult that must be.
i think the youngest mom i personally know had her baby when she was in her mid-20s. Maybe 25?

@Adira @regberadaisy: I know right!!! I don't think I even knew what sex was when I was 12! It breaks my heart

@regberadaisy: hahaha. Funny
I have a friend I somewhat mentored who is pregnant with her first and I think she is 18 or 19? A few other 18 year olds too.

@winniebee: haha. Well at least I'm married and out of high school

I had two friends in high school that got pregnant at 15. My mom and DH's mom were pretty young; my mom got pregnant with my brother at 16 - had him at 17, and MIL got pregnant with BIL at 15. So, even though DH is 6 years older than me, his mom is only one year older than my parents.

My cousin-in-laws sister got pregnant at 12, had her baby at 13.
It gets way more white trash than that too. Their other sister got pregnant at the same time (she was 16), they were due 2 days apart..... Turns out the babies had the same daddy.

@zippylef: WOW!
I know of a bunch of girls from high school who had babies at 16.

Um, I don't know any young moms. In the 5 years I went to my high school, there was one pregnancy (that we all knew of), but I didn't really know the girl... and then another girl from HS I didn't really know had a baby at 20 or 21 or something, but if I limit to people who know my name and with whom I've had an actual conversation? Probably my best friend from HS, who had her first at 23. I don't think I know anyone personally who had a baby before finishing college.

my BFF. She was (just turned, four days earlier) 16 when she had her daughter. She's now 27 & V is 11.

We had a lot of people who were pregnant in my high school, but I wasn't friends with them. Of people I was/am friendly with, probably like 22.
ETA: I have taught several 7/8 year olds whose parents were 22 and 23.
