My SIL had her daughter at 15, but we didn't know her until she was in her 30's. Her daughter is my brothers step-daughter.

@zippylef: OMG.
I don't know many teen moms personally. I've met a few, but no one close to me. BFF got pregnant at 20, that was the first person I was close to that got KU.

I think the youngest would've been 15 or 16? It was a girl I had 10th grade English with.

@Mrs. Pen: I have her beat! My first friend to have kids was 28. The rest of the people I know well enough to know their ages were even older. I did briefly know someone back when I was in college who was in her 20s with a 6-year-old. She had been a teen mom -- maybe 17?

@zippylef: there's a TLC reality show in there somewhere.
There were a few pregnant girls in my high school while I was there, but none of my friends. SIL got pregnant at 23 and I thought that was super young, but mostly because of her circumstances, which made her seem way younger.

DHs cousin was 19 ad his GF was 18 when they had their daughter. He went away to University and she started college a few months later. They got engaged a couple years later and moved in together, and now they are married with their first house! They are 24 and 23 now and their daughter is almost 5. They were TTC last year again but had a MC Hopefully they can get pregnant again soon.

I used to be a mentor in a program for young mothers, so at that point in my life I new quite a few young mothers. The youngest in my program cohort was 15. My mentee was 19 at the time we met and had one child. She's almost 25 now and has 4 kids

My best friend in high school (still my bf now) had a baby at 15 who is graduating high school tomorrow!!! whoop whoop!
I also work with teen moms, through a breast feeding out reach program. I currently am working with a 13 year old who is trying to breastfeed. I try not to judge. I don't know everyone's situation and I can tell you right now that the teen moms I work with are from every race, religion, and background. People who are more affluent are just good at hiding it and taking care of the "problem" if they don't want anyone to know.

Well lots of friends/acquaintances got pregnant right out of high school. The closest was 21 when she delivered. I know another person from a job I had that delivered her first at 19 but she was married/stable. I have a cousin who was 17 and the baby's mom was 18. None of these are particularly young imo. Now you all have me wondering how old @Mrs. Pen is!! I think we are around the same age, wondering if I'm younger!]
Eta I had a coworker from another job that had her first at 16/17 so I guess she would be the youngest I really know although there was one in hs who was 15 I think. I don't think I know anyone who had a baby younger than 15.

@googly-eyes: haha! I'm 23.5 now, but I was 21 when I got pregnant!
ETA: @Mrstiz: is younger than me and she's pregnant with her first.

My cousin was 14 when she got pregnant. I haven't seen her since she was 12 though.

I think the youngest person i know was 16/17 at the time. We went to high school together and she hid it very well. Very few people knew until the very end if her pregnancy.
I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant with DS and 20 when I gave birth. I'll be 22 when #2 is born. We were married for close to a year before getting pregnant with DS so I don't really think people noticed that we were in the younger side.
