@MrsMcD: Sorry, I just didn't want to come off like "I wish they weren't alive so I could have this" (and I felt like I might have been a bit!)....just wanted to clarify that we don't take into account the assumption that a sibling=best friend for life when making our family plans, because I've seen firsthand how opposite that can be...but I'm sure I'm the exception here, not the rule!

@lovehoneybee: I don't expect siblings to be best friends. I just think sibling relationships in general are invaluable. People will always be busy with their own families so we can't rely on friends to be there for us for the entirety of our lives like siblings will be. Like them or not, they are a part of your life.
