Will you buy your LOs any Christmas(holiday gifts)?

We bought LO's Christmas gifts during our last trip to Ikea - a wire bead maze and a wooden stacking toy. We'll requesting books and clothes from family is they ask for suggestions. She has so many plush animals, I'm hoping she doesn't get more. Our house is overrun by her menagerie and she shows zero interest in them.

We'll get her a few things. From our family we'll ask for money for her college fund, but some of them will probably do something else. I enjoy giving gifts, but we keep things pretty minimal in terms of gift giving. I don't want to create a gift obsessed child.

Yep. We do the want/need/wear/read rule too. This year it'll be:
    Want - JellyCat stuffed animal
    Need - Walker
    Wear - Socks
Read - Baby Lit board book

We have an amazon wishlist for grandparents with stuff like books and wooden toys and such on it, but I doubt they'll follow it.

We've already bought her a Duplo play house for Christmas and I'd previously hoarded a cog wheels toy that came late from Zulily last Christmas, but I'm thinking about saving that for yet another year! I just bought her a pair of stuffed animals, one I wanted to give her now and another for New Year's day, but depending on what she gets, I may give it early.

She didn't get too many gifts from the in-laws last year, so I want to make sure she has new things to play with.

Oh yeah, we'll definitely be buying her stuff. I'm actually really excited about wrapping them up as I know she'll get the most fun from the boxes/paper. She doesn't have family in Canada either so I think we'll probably go OTT to compensate for her not having family here to spoil her.

Yep. New books, clothes, a PBK play table and an oversized anywhere chair for B.

Hmm...I dunno. She's only be 5 months, so won't remember, or actually be able to open them or anything, so I kind of don't see the point. I'll probably wrap up some clothes if she's not already 6-9 month size by then.

I'm sure the grandparents and extended family will spoil her rotten though.

I want to get her a play kitchen or maybe a table and chair set for her play room.

Last year she was 6 days old and we bought her a book (:
This year, we will be gifting her a cozy coupe for Christmas (:

When she's older, we will probably do the 4 gift rule (:

@Arden: Socks are a great idea! Especially while LO is too young to understand the whole gift thing. Adding that to my list of stocking stuffers.

I think we are getting her the wooden Kidcraft play kitchen from costco.

Baby #2 will be 3-4 weeks old so I don't think we will get her anything.

I'm not sure. She'll only be 4 months old and she'll get spoiled by everyone else. Maybe something special to commemorate her first Christmas? Like a special ornament? I can't imagine wrapping up a bunch of stuff so that I can unwrap it for her...

Our parents kind of suck at giving wrapped "things" gifts. So I will HAVE to buy stuff for K! I'm planning to get her a PBK Anywhere Chair. Maybe a pushing walker toy if she is starting to stand/pull up by then (she'll be 9 months).

Definitely! She'll be 10 months. I've been collecting ideas for months already! She'll get gifts and stocking stuff from us and at my parents' house. We bought her gifts last Christmas, before she was even born, so we're definitely excited for her to be able to unwrap gifts this year.
