If you do Secret Santa at work, what's the suggested budget? I asked a co-worker yesterday because I didn't want to be too far off the average. I was surprised by her answer!

For my first job, we had a $10 budget. Everyone participated, although I think $20 would have made for a wider range of options. The last two places I worked we didn't do Secret Santa.

At my old job, we did $20 limit, but my new job we're doing $10 limit.

We do a $5 gift everyday for a week. I voted $30, because most of the gifts are usually a little bit over $5.

I'm not participating in mind because I think it's too much considering my workplace is big and I could get someone I don't know ow well. It's three separate weeks of giving with $5, then $10, then $25.

We are a 15 person office, and we use an online secret santa website like elfster.com -- everyone enters a short list of gift ideas, so that really helps.
