So this is a little bit of a vent since there is nothing I can do to change it but I need to get it off my chest. My DH grandma passed away this weekend and the funeral is Wednesday. I let my boss know and asked what our policy is on this.as I couldn't' find anything in the handbook (strang for a larger company.) Well I guess it is up to the manager, and mine decided that because I have been leaving early for my doctor's appointment that I need to take a vacation day. (Please note I do make up every minute I'm gone for these.)
I only have one left before the baby comes. I was told I have to use it or I need to skip the funearl since "it's just my husband's grandma not my own." I thought this was horrible on their part and think it should be in writing somewhere.
Anyone else have policy's they do not agree with?
