I've been getting pedicures now and then as of late b/c I'm trying to get rid of some cracks in my heel... but I cut my toe tripping over some stuff and now I'm going to wait until it heals.
I just feel like salons are kind of germ infested. Maybe I'm being overly paranoid.
Anyone else wary of nail salons? Would you get a pedicure if you had a cut on your toe?

nope, definitely would not.
I feel like I always stub my toe, get blister from shoes, etc., RIGHT before I'm about to get a pedicure, lol

Nope! Omg the girl doing my toes when I was 37ish weeks pregnant cut my foot with her tools! She was so scared and kept apologizing over and over again. 
she's lucky I didn't get an infection!!

I would't go just because it sounds like it might be painful with the lotions and what not. However, if it's sealed up and it doesn't sting when you put hydrogen peroxide or something similar on it, then I'd go.

haha, guess I'm the odd-man out?
I once tripped and rip up half of my big toe (ouch!!!!) so I was miss half my nail and my toe was all cut up from it. I slapped a band-aid on it and went and got a pedi! I just told them not to touch that toe and to leave the band-aid alone. Nothing bad happened to me!

@Alivoo01: haha, I just didn't want my other toes to suffer because one toe was out of commission. Or maybe I'm too vain?

I wouldn't go with a cut... it took me until post-college for my friend's wedding to ever get a pedicure because I was so paranoid about the germs, etc. in pedi machines at salons.

Nope- I dont really trust the cleanliness of salons so I'd avoid it till the cut healed.

I've gotten cut at the nail salon before and it's not a fun experience. You don't know how often they clean those tools, even if it's a really nice/expensive salon. I've been lucky, no infections - but looking back I should have demanded a refund which of course I was never offered.
In general I hate having polish on my fingers and I hate people touching my feet so I avoid the salon. But in the summer my at-home pedicure only looks passable if I get professional pedicures every couple of months so I can't 100% avoid it.

I wouldn't. I went at 38 weeks pregnant and ended up with bilateral toenail infections. I was so pissed! It took months for them to heal. I remember that until I got my epidural I could feel my toes pulsing almost as much as I could feel the contractions.
I hated that dirty salon and will never go back... With a cut, it might have been 1000 times worse!

@mrsjacks omg i would totally freak out!!!
i wouldn't go until it's healed. plus, the people rubbing my feet don't have gloves on and i wouldn't want to get something funky from their hands.
i am a psycho about nail salons. i know i could probably still get some weird foot thing, but i have to see all the tools being sterilized in an autoclave and the basin being sanitized before hand.
