I'd MUCH rather work four 10 hour days! Unfortunately when you're self employed, your boss can be a real jerk!
Would you rather work four 10 hour days, or five 8 hour days?

I would pick four 10's, and have DH do the same. I'd work Mon-Thur and have DH work Tues-Fri. Then DD would only need daycare 3 days/week

I work 3-4 12 hr days and I much prefer it. I can never go back to 8 hr days.

I used to work both, and I much preferred 4 10 hour days for sure!

Definitely 4 10 hour days. I typically work a 4 day week but occasionally I have to do 5 and I hate it.

@anonysquire: same!! 3-12's is the way to go! Couldn't work a M-F 8-5 ever again!

I can't remember the last time I worked a 40 hr week and didn't have to work weekends. I'd be pretty happy to just get to that point.

I used to work 3 12-hr shifts... 4 days off sounds nice, but I didn't like those 3 days I would be gone from DH/LO for pretty much all waking hours.
So after becoming a mom, I switched to having a normal schedule and worked about 7 - 7.5 hrs x 5 days. Allowed me to have plenty of QT each and every evening, plus weekends. That was ideal for us at the time!

5 8's. I hated 4 10's. I worked 6-430 and had to be asleep by 830.

Definitely four 10-hr days! I can get "in the zone" and plow through my work... and I'd love 3-day weekends every weekend!

I use to do 10 hour shifts and now do 12s. 12 is too much, 10 was perfect.

I work 3 12s and I love it. But when we have kids, I will probably go to part time because a 12hr shift turns into being gone for at least 15 hours.

I work 3-4 12 hour days (alternating each week) which means I have 3-4 days off a week which is great... but my weekend starts at 6 am on Sunday so it doesn't coincide with DH's weekend much and we dont really see eachother on the days I work. Long shifts have their advantages and disadvantages.

I work four 10 hour days and it's great! It'd be tough to go back to working five days again (and I hope I don't have to).

With my commute, if I worked 4 10's, I'd never see M. I have to pick 5 8 hour days. But really, I work 5 8.5 hour days (with a half hour lunch). I wish I could work 8 hours with no lunch!

4 ten hour days. DH has this schedule actually, but he has so much work to do he spends his day off working from home. At least it a beats his 2 hour commute.

With my commute 4 10s would really mean being out of the house for 12 hours and getting no time with LO on those days, so I'll stick with my 5 8s. If I could WFH I'd do the 4 10s or even 3 12s in a heartbeat though!
