I had one at 28 weeks, which is how my doctor normally does it. She did not have us do a 12 week one, though.

I had one at 38 weeks because my doctor thought I was having a 9 lb baby and wanted to check the birth weight. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had another one.

we usually have the 14 week and 20 week scan and that's all. this time round i skipped the 14 week one (no reason, i was just so tired from taking care of LO#1 and morning sickness....) so i'm looking forward to the 20 week anatomy scan!

Yes, once a week or every other week, but that was because I had complications. They were not exciting ultrasounds because they were checking the length of my cervix, baby's kidney function, lung development, etc. There was no "Oh, look! There's the baby's toes!"-- etc. The techs were pretty focused, and so was I-- instead of asking the tech fun questions like "Where's baby's face? Let's see that cute little nose!" it was all "Well, what is my cervix measuring today?"
