I'm hoping and praying I don't get GD with my second pregnancy. I've heard stories of folks not having GD the first pregnancy then getting GD the second time around, but I'm wondering if anyone had the opposite happen?

My friend had GD for her first but not for her second or third pregnancy!

For my first, I had diagnosed GD...but it got complicated, and I ended up delivering at 32 weeks.
For the second pregnancy, I took the glucose test and passed, but the baby was 9 lbs 15 oz at 39 weeks...so the midwife who delivered said it could have been a glucose intolerance. That baby was also stillborn, but that was unrelated to the sugar issues.
So, this time around, even if I pass the GD test, I'm eating like a diabetic. Those tests aren't always very accurate.

I'll let you know once I get a little further along! I had GD with my first pregnancy and am 6.5 weeks right now. Here's hoping I don't with my second! I'm still going to try to eat the same way I did with my first, but it would be nice to have a cheat here and there!

@2PeasinaPod: I'm almost 7w too! I'm hoping to be one of those folks that don't get it the second time around! Def keep me posted! Also congratulations!

@Dandelion: Sounds like a good plan! My OB actually made me take more of the glucose drink that usually prescribed as she said this way the test would be more accurate.

I had GD with my first but a very mild form with my second (I was one point over the range for one of the 3 hour tests, the rest were under). My numbers were always within the normal range no matter what I ate.
