    @megz06: that is exciting!

I updated the other thread, but baby and Mama looked good yesterday. Still watching me for some hints of pre-e, but everything has thus far checked out. Still dilated to 1 cm, but I'm 60% effaced and -2 station. It looks like these contractions are doing some good work!

My appointment yesterday went really well. I've had more swelling and more headaches, but BP and urine are still clear. They checked me again-still at 1, but more thinned out, and baby's head is very low. I'm also pretty sure I'm losing parts of my mucous plug.

    Full term tomorrow-EEK!

@jhd: hopeful that baby has turned for you!

@LovelyPlum: yay for a good appointment, and for being full term!! and you're right, March IS flying! I've been thinking this baby could come early, particularly if my fluid levels dip low again--I'll know for sure after my ob appointment this week when I talk to my dr about our birth plan, but from reading stuff online about it, it seems like low fluid can be a cause for early induction...

I forgot to update after my last couple appointments, oops! There are so many these days and little that's new to report I met one of the other doctors in my practice last week and really, really liked her. She did my strep test, and let me know that cervical checks start this week. I also had my weekly bpp/nst yesterday and my fluid level has been stable now for 2 weeks which is great. And baby girl was looking great throughout, and getting big: she's 5lbs 10oz now!

Just had my appt! 1.5cm dilated and baby is measuring right on track. Next appt is 3/25. It's crazy because I wasn't dilated at all with DD, even my appt 2 days before I went into labor. I also had been in labor for 8 hours with painful and fast contractions with DD and showed up at 1.5cm at the hospital so I'm a little excited! maybe this LO will actually be on time!

Had my appointment yesterday. Last week my body hadn't done anything, and the baby was still very high up. Yesterday I was 0cm dialated, 40% effaced, and -2 station, so he said I made tremendous progress in a week.. I asked him if I should be dialiating, and he said that is absolutely no indictation that the baby will come any sooner or later.

    Next appt. is March 26!

Just got home from my appt. everything looks good, baby's head is down... or as my dr. put it "he's on the runway, waiting for takeoff" hahaha. He said I still have a little ways to go and am 50% effaced.

    My next appt. is 3/27!

  24. megz06

@preggomeggo82: I tested GBS positive. The test isn't bad (unless you have hemmroids I guess is what I heard).

@jhd: Ah! So jealous of you ladies getting u/s. I'd love to see if our LO has hair!

@jill_a55: Lol I like doctors with a sense of humor. Mine told me I won't have a prolapsed cord, and I asked him how he knew, and he said to imagine my body as a bottle of tequila (I told him at this point I need a good drink so that's probably not a good idea lol), and he said, "The cord is the worm and your baby's head is the cork, and the cork isn't lettin' the worm out!"

I had my 37 week appointment today and all looks good. My due date has been changed to 4/4 - eeps! Baby's looking good and healthy, weighing 6lbs now. Head is down in the cavity, we can no longer get any 3D images of her face! Cervical check shows no dilation however. Next appointment is one week from today on 3/28 when I'll be 38 weeks. Time is really flying!

Hope everyone is smooth sailing from here on out, and good luck with your appointments all!

glad everyone's appointments are going well!

I had an appointment with my ob yesterday. I got my gbs results (neg!) but still no cervical check--I haven't had any contractions yet (is that weird?) so she said we could skip for now. The big highlight is that we had the birth plan chat! I wasn't sure if the extra fluid monitoring was going to mean that my ideal birth plan was out of the question (keeping my fingers crossed for no meds and no IVs/continuous monitoring since I want to be able to move around), but she was really reassuring that it's still an option! She basically said that if my fluid drops too low again I'd most likely be induced on the spot (eep!) now that I'm 36 weeks, but that she wasn't worried about it since my fluid has been back in the normal range and stable for the past couple weeks. And now I have all of my appointments at both the hospital and doctor's office scheduled until my due date (one of each every week, hospital every Monday and dr's office switches days, next week it's Friday). Crazy that the end is in sight!

Appointment went okay. No change since last time. At 1.5cm baby is station -3. I actually lost two pounds ? I think I've been feeling so full lately it's hard to eat anything! Next appointment is 4/4 (my due date!)

Also, kind of a rant, but I had my appt with the NP a since my OB is out of town. Now, my husband and I have never been fans of hers. She had terrible bedside manner and is just kind of rude in general but I never really see her so I don't think much of it. Well she was asking me about still being sick and then suggested I take mucinex instead of sudafed because sudafed would dry up my milk. Well.....I had breast cancer and a double mastectomy so I can't breast feed my children. You'd think she would have known that since I've been their patient for 4 years and while it didn't bother me at the time, now it seems pretty insensitive. Anyways, just made me feel kind of icky and sad

  28. nana87

    cantaloupe / 6171 posts

@luckypenny: I'm sorry the NP was so insensitive! That's the kind of info they should have clearly marked on your chart so they don't put their feet in their mouths, you shouldn't have to deal with that. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and I'm so proud of her strength. You're an amazing mama, and your children will be so proud of you too

@nana87: Thanks lady and congrats to your Mom!

  30. megz06

    apricot / 335 posts

@luckypenny: That's really insensitive. Wouldn't that be marked on your chart or something? Even if it isn't, if you've been there 4 years she should have enough brains to remember that. I'm sorry.

I'll spare my whiny story over here since I already cry-babied on the other board, but my appointment was less than exciting. Still no dilation, still 40% effaced. Moved from a -2 station to -1, so there was some slight progress but not enough to get me excited obviously.

Next appointment is April 2...my guess as to the "birth day." Today was my husband's guess, and dear sweet Lord, please...I hope he is right

@luckypenny: wow i'm so sorry about that insensitive NP. hopefully you won't have to see her again.

@megz06: sorry your appt wasn't as exciting as you hoped! you never know how things might change in the next few days!!!

    grapefruit / 4582 posts

@megz06: @jhd: thanks ladies. Luckily I don't have to see her again and yeah, that's definitely in my chart. Ugh.

@luckypenny: wow, what an insensitive B! Sorry you had to go through that.

Had my appointment earlier, already posted on the other page but I now have an u/s sizing appointment tomorrow, and a follow up OB appointment on Monday to determine whether or not we will schedule a c section.

  34. jhd

OB appt went well. Group B strep came back positive & I'm allergic to penicillin. Hoping the other stuff they will give me doesn't cause a reaction.

I'm super uncomfortable today, LO has dropped and I'm just sore. No contractions though so she wasn't worried and didn't do a cervical check. She said at this point it would make me spot & be uncomfortable & probably just make me anxious that there isn't progress. @nana87: maybe your OB thinks the same way as mine. I just asked bc I was expecting a check based on the experiences of our other April mamas.

  35. SupernovaJ

    persimmon / 1141 posts

@jhd: I also test positive for GBS so will need antibiotics! i was so surprised. until pregnancy, i had no idea what this even was.

i just had my 38 week appointment and am 1 cm dilated and very soft. ha, not much progress from last week but i'll take it. she warned me that i could have some spotting and cramping after the cervical check which is totally normal and lo and behold a couple of hours after my appointment, it's happening. i'm having some heavy spotting and cramping, but it's not too bad.

i'm finally on maternity leave so will be doing tons of walking and all the old wives tales to get this baby our starting next week. my next appointment is on thursday 4/3 to see what my progress is. they want to schedule an induction but i was able to escape it for now (i have GD, although baby is measuring on the smaller end, fluids look good and my BP is low) so hoping she'll come out on her own. come on baby!

hope everyone else's appointments are going well!! we are almost there, woo hoo!

@SupernovaJ: yay for maternity leave!! I hope baby will come on her own. almost there!!

I had 2 appointments on Friday--one with the midwife in my dr's practice, and one at the hospital for fluid monitoring. The midwife did a cervical check and didn't give me numbers, but said it was still hard and closed, so it makes sense that I haven't had contractions yet! My fluid only dropped a tiny bit more after it had fallen quite a bit on Monday, so they consider it stable, which is maybe as good as I can expect. It's just above the cutoff for being able to be admitted to my hospital's birth center, so I'm feeling less hopeful about being able to deliver there rather than the traditional l&d floor...but keeping my fingers crossed still!

Have my 40 week appointment on Friday night! I'm asking her to sweep my membranes while I'm there because going into labor this weekend would be ideal Plus I'm becoming slightly more terrified that this baby is as stubborn as DD and will inevitably be 11 days late too

  39. SupernovaJ

    persimmon / 1141 posts

@luckypenny: did you get your membranes swept with DD1? i'm going in thursday for a regular OB appt (39 weeks) and am thinking about asking them to sweep me (lol). how does it feel? did it work for you last time?

  40. luckypenny

    grapefruit / 4582 posts

@SupernovaJ: I did ask but she said because I was still hard and closed that she couldn't. So I never did with DD but hopefully since I'm really soft and 1.5cm she can!
