@MrsADS: What a B word!! So sorry you're going through this and without hubby.

Baby must be in a growth spurt. My belly has changed in a BIG way the last week or 2 and I'm eating and sleeping a TON!! I swear I could sleep for a week straight if I didn't have to work and care for a family haha.

I have a pre existing stomach condition and it's been acting up lately. It led to me being signed off work early on medical leave with LO1 and seems as though I'm headed in the same direction this time. Not totally shocked but I guess just feeling caught off guard that I'm already this late on my pregnancy haha. Time is flying by!! Hopefully I can work for the better part of this month before it gets bad.

@getjazzy: me too! it's 9:30pm and I'm legit hungry again! That's happened several times this week where Im either starving again before bed or starving as soon as I wake up! Baby sure is moving a TON, getting bigger and stronger!

I don't know how you ladies are so hungry! The last week my appetite has decreased... I feel full so much of the day, and I can't eat full meals anymore. I have this squished feeling in my torso like baby is pushing everything up, and it HURTS! I have to remind myself to eat. Sometimes I get hungry, but then I feel full after a few bites. I don't know how I'm gonna make it another 15 weeks!

@Mrs. Microscope: I feel ravenously hungry often, but I get full so much faster! If I have a late lunch I won't even need dinner. It's always one extreme or the other!

Are any other second time mamas getting a double stroller? My oldest will be 2.5 when this baby is born and I think she will still want a stroller. Not mention when she decides to run she is fast. I think the City Select is really nice but oh so pricey. I've seen some good reviews of the Contours Options Elite bu they are often sold out and I haven't seen one locally to actually try. My sister in Law has the Select so I can play with it with my neices who are exactly three years apart.

@kayakgirl73: I got one when LO 2 was born when LO 1 was 16 months old. We still use it a lot and they are 2 & 3. We have a City Mini GT.

@autumnlove: My current single is the City Mini GT. Love it, but I'm worried the double version would be two wide for my older neighborhood's sidewalks.

@kayakgirl73: We went with the Contours Options Elite. I was set on the city select until I played with it in person and I didn't like it anymore. For the price tag, it was not what I was looking for. Kids will be JUST 2 years apart so I thought it was necessary for us. It was a pain in the butt to order because the colour option I wanted was only sold in the US and I'm in Canada but it worked out in the end! Just from playing with it in the house, I'm super happy with it.

I think we are Getting the contours Elite. Just saw one at the park and was really impressed. It was the only non side by side I liked, it was between that and the B Agile double.

@Mrs. Microscope: I actually also feel like that! Doesn't stop me from being hungry, but I hate that feeling like my stomach is all up in my chest. I've been having some nausea in the evenings after dinner just from indigestion I guess. I actually threw up after some pizza a couple weeks ago bc I was soooo uncomfortable. Hugs girl!

@kayakgirl73: Another vote for the Contours Options Elite. My LOs will only be 20 months apart, so we'll definitely need a double stroller.

This pregnancy is making me crazy, not driving me crazy, but making me a crazy person. Today my husband told me I was talking loudly. I looked at him and burst into tears. Cuckoo.

Hi everyone, hope everyone's doing well. Just wanted to do a weekend check-in. After my drama with the secretary at my OB's office, my mom talked me into calling them back Friday morning since I was still contracting a lot. I spoke to the OTHER receptionist, and she basically said we need to see you RIGHT NOW.

And it turns out when I get to the OB, the nurse tells me (as I suspected) that the other secretary never gave her the message. She and the doctor both apologized profusely to me and said if something like that ever happens again or if I'm ever unsure or anything, just ask to speak to the nurse directly and they will get her for me. So, I feel better.

As for the contractions, they are still happening all. the. time. My OB took a swab for a fetal fibronectin test (kinda like a pap smear - test to show if you're likely to go into labor in the next 2 weeks), should have the results Monday. She also swabbed me for bacterial vaginosis and is sending my urine for a urine culture. She said an infection can definitely cause contractions. She said when she was examining me my cervix looked closed.

I have a follow up with her on Wednesday and another ultrasound to check cervical length to see if the contractions are actually doing anything. I almost went to the hospital last night because they were so bad, 4 minutes apart at one point, but then they spaced out to like 20 minutes apart. And my husband is half a country away, no family in town so I really did not want to go to the hospital alone.

Just keeping my fingers crossed at this point that these are just random non-productive contractions and nothing is changing!

@MrsADS: I'm so glad you called back and are getting good care! This must feel so scary right now... FX that your testing comes back normal, the contractions stop, and baby stays in for a good long while!!!

@MrsADS: stay in there baby! Thanks for the check in. Fingers crossed. For good test results!

@buttermilk: ugh! I haven't thrown up yet... Food anyways. I threw up just stomach acid last night when I tried to go to bed.

@kayakgirl73: I'll be getting a double stroller, since my kids will be about 26 months apart. I like to walk a lot through my neighborhood and to the store. I want to get the Bumbleride Indie Twin, which is pricey, but I'm convinced it's the best stroller out there lol

@OhCaptain: I'm extra sensitive too. My husband said to me that he likes the way I've been dressing lately, so I said what do you mean lately? It sounded like an insult rather than a compliment at the time.

@MrsADS: I'm hoping the contractions stop for you!

@MrsADS: I'm glad your OB took you more seriously than receptionist #1. I'm crossing my fingers for good results back today!!

Heading to my glucose test soon, hoping that goes well. I didn't have issues with my first but who knows. I know a few people who got GD with their second (or more) pregnancies when their first was ok.

Baby girl has been moving like CRAZY and totally deforming my belly in the process, it's been awesome. This was my favorite time in my pregnancy with DS. I love the strong dramatic movements. My sleep has been terrible lately. I'm so so so so restless. I never got this with DS. I could sleep like a log, never had problems getting comfortable, just lay down and out for the night (minus pee breaks) but this time, I'm up minimum 3 times to pee per night and then up 5-6 times aside from that because I'm not comfortable, or I have restless legs, or I had a weird dream. Add to that, any time DS makes a noise in his room I wake up for that too. NOW I see what all the movies are portraying about pregnant woman sleep and it sucks!

@getjazzy: Ha! I've had plenty of pregnancy brain...but so far I'm stuck I'm hyper-accurate mode with my EGA ~25 1/2weeks today!

@getjazzy: I've definitely had some pregnancy brain! The other day I tried to drink out of my water bottle with the top just sitting on it instead of screwed on, dumped water everywhere. (It's a reusable, so the top that you drink out of, not what closes it.) DH thinks it's hilarious. Also, I love just sitting and watching my belly move. It's so weird!

I can't explain it, but I feel much more pregnant today, and not really in a good way. Like she's suddenly interfering with my ability to move and breathe way more. I'm wondering if she's changed position? But I'm still feeling movement in more or less the same places (which is actually all over, but with some particular areas she concentrates on), so I have no idea. I did have a kind of weird moment the other night. I could clearly feel two large hard areas, which I'm assuming were her head and torso, pressed hard up against the top and side of my belly, and then I realized I could feel another very small hard spot moving down low. So I'm guessing foot. But it was the first time I've really felt like I could distinguish a body part that wasn't her head or torso from the outside. Never felt that with R, but I had an anterior placenta then.

I passed my one hour glucose! And I had my meeting with the MFMS, and my cervix is now clear! No more previa! Double ! Now I'm back to prepping for a vaginal birth (hopefully) and starting to exercise again. I did some squats and light arm weight workouts last night, and I am SO sore. Still, it feels good.

Baby girl had a heartbeat of 152 bpm and was measuring around 46th(?) percentile iirc. 2 lbs 3 oz, I believe was what the doctor said. She said she's measuring one day behind.

@Mizhi: AMAZING news about the previa!! What a relief! Congrats on the glucose results as well. All great news, I'm sure you feel very renewed spiritually to have worries lifted like that!

    @Mizhi: congrats on passing!

@Torchwood: I totally feel you. Also feeling like the physicality of being pregnant is finally hitting me. DH has to help me up off the floor practically every time now. I'm feeling bigger by the day, starting to plan my trips upstairs strategically, and feeling really tired and out of breath. We had a big weekend with big biking trips and walking tours, and I felt mega pregnant during and after. Even had some light cramping until I put my feet up and relaxed. And I can still bend over, but starting to feel like I understand how I wont be able to soon.

Also, I'm eating ice cream in my underwear right now. I swear I've never spent so much time pants-less!!

  32. getjazzy

    persimmon / 1179 posts

@Torchwood: LOL I've done that! I actually spilled non alcoholic beer all over myself the other day. I went to take a drink and tipped the can before it was anywhere near my mouth. Of course it covered me and although it's non alcoholic, it sure doesn't smell much different. I'm like great, I smell like a preggo with a drinking problem lol.

@buttermilk club no pants here too! Even the band on mat pants is just kinda uncomfortable. And it's hot out. So sitting at home = sitting in my underwear! LOL.

Contractions much better today so that's good. I also ate so many cookies. Ugh I'm gonna gain do much weight by the end.

@buttermilk: Haha totally take off my pants as soon as I walk in the door!

@Mizhi: Yay for the good ultrasound, glucose results, and placenta moving!! That's great news!

@MrsADS: So glad the contractions are better! Hope they stay away for awhile!!

I have my 26 week MFM appointment tomorrow. Excited to see little man again!! Took the entire day off, so my BFF (who is due 7 weeks after me and just found out she's having a girl!) and I are going to lunch and shopping! My LO is at my mom's for the night and I'm totally sleeping in tomorrow

@Torchwood: yes, MORE pregnant here too. It's like it was overnight. All of a sudden my belly is heavy when I lay on my side, and my lungs aren't running out of room yet, but I'm def huffing and puffing when I walk upstairs. I often feel like she must be moving, like, flipping position cause my belly gets this strange feeling and then her movements feel different.

  38. MrsStar

    nectarine / 2994 posts

I'm lying here on the couch watching my belly move when baby moves. I can even see her foot stick out every now and then!

I think she might've had a growth spurt over the weekend because I was SO tired on Saturday, I even had to nap because I couldn't keep my eyes open. And since Sunday I've been fine! Putting socks and shoes on is becoming pretty hard though.

Had my glucose test today - it was hard to drink that entire bottle of orange drink in 5 minutes. Ugh.

Also, we got back from New Orleans yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I've never slept as soundly this entire pregnancy - 13 solid hours of sleep in one night. Craziness!

Once again, I am so behind on this thread!

@MrsADS: thinking of you! Hope things settle down and baby stays put.

@kayakgirl73: our LOs will be almost exactly 3 years apart so I don't think we are going to get a double. DD hardly ever uses one at this point and I don't want to end up with extra gear so we'll see if we think we end up needing it.

I had my follow-up growth scan last week to make sure baby boy is on track because of the marginal cord insertion-- so far, so good. He was measuring a couple of days ahead and in the 50th percentile for most things. I'll go back again in July just to make sure.

I don't know if it's because it's my second or what, but I feel huge already. I swear I look as big as I did at 36 weeks last time. But I think my weight gain has been similar. Hard to imagine another 3 months of growing (not that I am complaining-- I want baby boy to get nice and big!)
