So I'm in the process of coming up with my baby shower invite list. So I'm wondering, did you have a large invite everyone baby shower or a small intimate close friends/family shower?

I plan on having two -
The first one with just girls, my family and closest friends that is very intimate and special, with lots of attention put into little details and time spent recording messages for baby and such.
The second one really big co-ed one where practically everyone I know is invited, where we'll have lots of fun activities like onesie-decorating and such.
My best friend will host the first one and my Mom the second.
And then we also want to host our own "Meet the Baby" party a month or due after it arrives, just because I love parties and party planning so much and I'd like to have the opportunity to see everyone after being cooped up with baby. That last party would be gift-free, if people want to bring something they can bring food.

I had a huge shower. It was coed so that doubled the size and we invited some of my husband's friends that I wouldn't have if it were just mine. Plus a large number of guests were my mom's friends and I told her she can invite whoever she wanted since she was hosting.
It was super fun....and we got tons of much needed gifts.

I was JUST thinking about this this morning. DH has a HUGE family and most of them I "kinda" know.... I know my mom & bestie can't do a 100+ person shower (his family is seriously huge) and we're REALLY involved & close with our church family.
Maybe I can get 2... a family one (or atleast his side) and then a friends one. idk but it's stressful to think about. lol

I don't know anyone here, so if I had a shower I don't know who I'd invite. I have 6 college friends in the area. So,... 6?
I'm far from both our families.

Only friends and family. Boys were allowed at my shower.

I had a smaller shower with just close friends and my one family member in the area. It was really lovely. I felt like I spent quality time with each of my guests, which I feel is the main advantage of having a smaller shower.
