I think 26 is the earliest I would go, if you find out gender that only gives you a few weeks to register for things before invites go out. I had mine between 30-33 and it was perfect.

I had my first shower at 26 weeks (it was out-of-state, though--a 4 hour drive--and I knew I wouldn't want to make that drive once I got huge). No one said anything about it being early, and I was able to comfortably wear heels! I'll be 31 weeks at my next shower. I don't think 26-30 is too early (it'll actually be nice to have all your gifts and have plenty of time to figure out what else you need).

26 seems like the earliest I'd want to do it. Working backwards, if she sends out invites a month before the shower, that has the invites going out just after 20 weeks really, and i wouldn't have been comfortable with anything in print before that.

My shower is out of state, 4 hour drive, at almost 35 weeks. I wish it was 2 weeks earlier or so, but there were a number of other conflicts so it is was it is. I think I'll be pretty tired by the end!

26-32 seems like a good spot to me.

I had my first shower at 25 weeks. It was the only time my out if town sister and some other family has available. It wasn't a big deal at all! I think 26+ weeks would be fine.

I think 30-32 weeks is best. You are very pregnant so the games are fun, but not too pregnant to enjoy yourself. I wouldn't have wanted a shower at 23 weeks, I could barely wrap my head around the pregnancy at that point.

It doesn't sound too early to me! I had one at 36 weeks . . . and I felt like it was a little late for me to fully enjoy it (although I did enjoy it . . . I was just a swollen hot mess!). If I could have chosen a better time (with the advantage of hindsight!), I would have chosen right around 30 weeks.

I had mine the day before I turned 34 weeks and felt it was just a bit too late. I would've preferred around 32 weeks when I was still feeling great!

Mine is this weekend and I'll be 30 weeks. I don't think 26 is too early but I, personally, wouldn't go any sooner than that.

I say do it whenever! There's "traditional" timing but who says when is right or not to have one?! I think early-ish is fine. It gives you time to purchase any last minute things without having to rush, etc.

I had mine at 28 weeks, just because that's what worked for everyone. It wasn't a problem at all. My sister had hers at 37 weeks, and since she'd been having contractions, she couldn't leave town. So we had to change the whole plan and do it where she lived - which was a pain. I think early is great, at least for avoiding hassles like that.

23 weeks seems a little bit early but 26 is ok. I'm having a small shower this weekend with my book club and I will be 29 weeks. My family shower will be after baby arrives.

For DS I had it at 26 weeks cause it was out of town, where my extended family lives. It was during a planned trip I had with my parents.
