I get hungry like clockwork, but choose smart foods. I was ravished in my first trimester....now I'm almost 16 weeks and I'm just not as hungry. I can't eat too much before bed or I get indigestion, so that meal is small. But when I add up my calories for the day, I'm finding that I'm short of the ~2,300 I 'should' be having.

Today I've had/have planned:
Breakfast: Apple cider and Greek yogurt
Snack: A honeycrisp apple and two mini Twix bars
Lunch: Homemade chili on elbow noodles, with mozzarella and sour cream. Red seedless grapes
Snack: Greek yogurt
Dinner: TBD

Before dinner, I'm at about 1400 calories. I won't eat 900 calories at dinner, either. Oh, and today's a non-exercise day.

Anybody else having a similar issue? I put a little more weight on the first 15 weeks (I'm up 13 lbs now, but it seems to be all baby belly), so I'm just wondering if this is my body's way of balancing out, so I don't pack on too many.

Theoretically, I want to say that as long as I eat when I'm hungry and choose nutritionally dense foods, I'm providing plenty of nutrients. My husband says I should have a donut, but I don't think that will help I see my doctor on Thursday, so I'm going to ask her. I don't like the feeling of just stuffing myself if I'm not hungry. But I know my husband is concerned that my caloric intake is falling short. This looks really close to my pre-pregnancy ways of eating.
