I was working on site at google for a couple years as a contractor so definitely the free massages, and all the free food and snacks!

This probably isn't a perk but unlimited sick days.

One of my friends works as a financial consultant for an entertainment firm. He gets crazy benefits, like meeting famous people and free tickets to tons of events, even things like sundance and SXSW. He has to travel a lot for work also, so he gets tons of miles and hotel points, free upgrades, basically all his vacations are free. The downside is that he is hardly ever home and his clients are constantly in contact since a lot of events are after hours and on weekends.

I started out with 10 vacation days a year, and for every year we work here, we add a day (up to 20). We also have 10 sick days per year. Also, since I work events and have to work outside regular business hours, we earn comp time for those hours to use as we wish. It's nice to be able to save up enough hours to supplement my vacation time

flex time and work from home capabilities! Oh, and the 40 hour work week. Pretty unheard of in my field!

eta: so it's not a *fun* perk, but it makes my life much easier!

hmm..working in education doesn't provide a lot of perks. But in my "side" professional activities, I sometimes get to go to free dinners in expensive restaurants with childrens' and YA authors.
That's pretty awesome.

There was a kitchenwares store I used to work at, and I would get a 40% discount on most items, and 10% below cost on things like Cuisinart, Le Creuset and Kitchenaid. And they did "house charges" so we would take whatever home and pay for it a bit at a time...like $10-$20 a week or however much you wanted.

They would also sometimes have promotions with certain companies where you could get a few very heavily discounted items (50% below cost) from a specific cookware line, take them home and use them and answer 3 easy questions about them (like "What did you make?" "What did you like about the piece?" "What did you dislike?") the idea being that it's easier to sell a piece on the floor/give honest feedback to customers if you have had experience using it.

Man I loved that job.

DH works at WDW so it's nice that we get to go there for free 18 times a year with 3 guests. Plus the discount on merchandise, Disney hotels/cruises, etc.

My favorite was when I worked at a cupcake bakery... they were closed Sunday so we'd donate whatever we had left. No shelter/food pantry would do pick up though because we couldn't guarantee it (if we sold out), so we'd drop off at hospitals, nursing homes, etc, that we had ties to. But we were also able to take some for ourselves! I brought goodies home almost every week on Saturday night! Small but fun benefit

is summers off a perk if you work your ass off the other 9 months of the year? great vacations...2 weeks at christmas, 5 at thanksgiving, national holidays are usually off.

When I was a teacher at a charter school, I got to order books all the time! I needed to preview the books first, if I thought I might teach them. It was FANTASTIC! And, that school sent me to the National English Teachers Conference (wherever it was in the country) and a library conference where I got at least $300 in free books!

Lots of travel (international and domestic) in the past. I was single at the time and it was great!

I worked at big law firms in the glory days (2006ish). They flew me to the firm's home city to hang out with the summer associates. We did a tequila tour of SoHo. Sunset dinner cruise around Manhattan. Yankees games in the firm's box. Dinner with summers at incredibly nice restaurants. Scavenger hunt around a huge US city in limos with coolers of beverages. Casino night during firm-wide meeting weekend. Broadway shows. Trips the spa with my mentee. Catered dinner at a partner's awesome home. Cooking classes. Oh, and the etiquette class that ended with dinner in a private room a very very expensive restaurant. Yeah, those were the days.

The only perk I ever had was flexibility in my schedule where I could make my own hours depending on my school schedule.
