I'm wearing stretchy yoga pants, but not sucking in. Does this look like bloating or a bump?
ETA: since bloating is in the lead, when will I know for certain it's a bump?

If you can suck it in, it's bloat. If you can't, it's a bump. At least that's what I have been told.

I feel like you can call it a bump when there is roundness on top.

@looch: if I pull my shirt in under my bosom, the top of my belly is round- no slope down at all.

I think it looks like a baby bump but I would never assume that! If that makes sense. Haha.

@Raindrop: totally makes sense to me. Mr. Lime had a hard time answering the same question yesterday too. His response was, "if the baby is down there (meaning very low abdomen) why is your stomach big up top?"
@looch: cool

I always wondered that too! But when you pop you just know I looked back at some early pictures and said no way, that wasn't a bump, I didn't know what I was in for (in a good way!)

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: it looks bumpish to me, but im not sure how far along you are. ...if you're like 5 weeks then I'd say bloat! Haha.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I think it's a bump starting! Baby is getting some size as that point. And your uterus had grown too!

It's a bump! I would get so mad when my sisters would tell me it was just bloat because I wanted a bump so badly, haha. You rock that bump! (and you will definitely know when you "pop")

To me, any belly from the day you find out you are pregnant forward is a bump if you want it to be. The actual baby doesn't take up much space for a long time anyway!

Even if it's not baby, it's not necessarily bloat! Your uterus pushes everything up as it grows, which is why it can seem big even when baby is the size of a lemon. When you really "pop" it'll feel more firm (even for us fluffy ladies, there's a firmness under the fat).

My bloat was soft - I could poke it and it would collapse. My bump was hard.

@mrsrain: I appreciate what you said. My lower abdomen definitely has been firming up for weeks. My clothes started fitting differently 5-6 weeks ago even when I was5 lbs from my heaviest. Now I'm back to my heaviest weight. That's probably not good. (Edited)
