I had a coworker ask how much weight I had gained (first pregnancy) and I was really taken aback and just answered, which was 5lbs at that point and her response was "good, you don't need to gain any more."

Yesterday one of my students said, "to get the baby out there gonna slice your stomach open right." While making a slicing motion with his hand across his middle.

No kid I'm going for a vbac this time!

Yesterday at work there was a paper jam in the photocopier, so I knelt down to open the side door to take out the piece of paper. A coworker came by and said "What are you DOING?! It is totally inappropriate for you to be rolling down on the ground like that at 8 months pregnant!"

@Boogs: urgh me too. I remember this one lady cackling about how big i was. Urghh

@Boogs: I would have started saying "Nope, I'm just fat!" (I'm not saying you're fat, I just think that would have made people uncomfortable and feel like a-holes)

I was asked multiple times if I was sure I wasn't having twins

Also, I was at Target reaching for something small off a top shelf. An older women came running up to me and started flipping out on me telling me I don't care about my child and reaching for something above my head would strangle my baby by the umbelical cord?! I was in shock and just tried to be nice and go along with her so she would go away....she ended up running into DH and I at check out and was going off on DH telling him he needs to keep me in check and not allow me to do stuff like that. Yeah.... whatever, crazy old lady....

@Mrs. Oatmeal: probably coming from her experience. they were not so kind with women in birth 50/60 years ago

"You're having a boy, ain't ya? I could tell, my wife was wompsided like that and she had a boy."

"Do you really want to take that on? Babies take up a lot of time you know..." - a condescending male co-worker.

The project wouldn't even need to be done until next October....I'm due this March...so yea, I'm good!

Also had many people ask if I was having twins with both pregnancies. Nope.

Last time I had a coworker go on a huge rant about how pregnant women shouldn't microwave things or be in the same room as a microwave and I was like "where am I supposed to eat my lunch?" (our break room and fridge is three floors away from my desk!)

Reading the judgemental ones piss me off.

The misinformed "reaching above your head", or the man who asked if you're sure you want to take on a project.

I'm fuming for you!!

25 weeks: Store clerk asked me if it was my second child because I was so large.

29 weeks: Girl at show house entrance asked me to not let my water break in the house. I narrowly refrained from calling her a B****.

35 weeks: Coworker asked if I was tired of being fat.

37 weeks: Same coworker asked me how long I was going to work and then when I told her said, "Oh, we're just going to have to follow you around with a bucket in case your water breaks!"

At 28ish weeks (I work in retail) I had a customer exclaim very loudly " damn girl, you ain't had that baby yet" the whole store turned to look.

@Jackiedavis87: OMG My health care rep actually has to ask if I've been to jail, I said no, and she said, you wouldn't believe how many pregnant moms get into fights and end up in jail. !!

Not crazy but I was annoyed by how many people asked if I was going to stay home with DD. Not a single person asked my husband that question. Why does the woman have to stay home and never the man?

A coworker asked me in front of about 5 other coworkers if I would let my husband taste my breastmilk. I was stunned.

"You're having a c-section right?! You don't want to ruin your vagina!"
"Get the epidural! Why would you want to suffer through labor when you're going to suffer through the rest of your life now?!"

Both from the same person who has never had children and never will... Only 14 weeks so I can only imagine what else is to come.

Ps- I just can't with some of these comments.

I had my first ever rude pregnancy comment last night and it was from SIL's neighbour at a party.

After looking me up and down several times, she overheard someone congratulate me on my pregnancy (I'm 22 weeks) and then said "oh thank goodness you're pregnant! I've been thinking to myself how you've always been so skinny and it was such a shame you let yourself go so much!"

I suppose I could take it as a backhanded compliment but I was a bit miffed to be honest. And when I took a sip, and I mean about two drops of a sip, of champagne to toast my SIL's birthday, this same lady rushed right over to me and said "are you sure you should be doing that? Have you really thought about it?!" Umm, yes, and now please F off and don't talk to me for the rest of the night. Oh, she also criticised my wearing of four inch heels and told me I could be risking my pregnancy. Seriously lady, wtf?!
