@AngelicOne: Aww that's great! And he is growing lots!! I guess this is not as traumatizing as the 2 mo shots!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Trufflehunter: Just cause with bottles then you actually know how much milk she drank. Before I introduced bottles I really could only go by wet diapers & weight gain too. Now that I work again, during the day I know exactly how much she is drinking. But her weight gain has been slowing a little bit too

@FaithFertility: that's great! I had to shove a paci in around 2am but she didn't nurse till like 5:30 which was a first!

Going to get my hair done........YAY! But left DH with a bottle to give her since I'll be gone for a few....pray pray pray it is not a war and she takes it!!!!!!!!!

H finally slept a 4 hr stretch again last night!! I know it's silly since everyone else's babes are sleeping so well, but hot damn, I felt like I won the lottery. Too bad I couldn't fall asleep afterwards. oh well. Hopefully this continues!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: K doesn't sleep that great! I know you had been barely getting 3 hr stretches so yay! But I know it sucks when you can't sleep! Hopefully that means he's out of the 4 mo regression before he's even 4 mos!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@snowjewelz: the last few days he'd been up every hr, maybe 2 if lucky. So 4 feels luxurious
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@snowjewelz: and I'm hoping that was the extent of the regression!! Although I'm not holding my breath. Haha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: Seriously , I learn to just not expect anything and it's def been easier! She has a good night, great. If not, I consider it "normal". I don't even know if she had/is having/will have regression b/c her sleep isn't great anyway! Not so much MOTN but the doing down parts lasts from 7pm up till 10pm!

@theotherstark: Ohhh that is great,it is crazy what makes for good sleep these days

@Trufflehunter: I like doing weighted feeds because you can confirm how much your little one is transferring and make sure they are eating enough.
@FaithFertility: Yay! Enjoy your haircut!!

Hair cut felt great but bottle was a fail and DH is getting over it
I have nursed her to sleep all day today..... schedule is way off... but secretly I love it...... she is just so sweet and soft

@AngelicOne: Glad M had a good appointment!
@snowjewelz: I'm jealous you can use a paci! I tried the other night but didn't work (and even if it did I'd have to hold it in for him till he fell back asleep!)
@theotherstark: Yay for a four hour stretch! E is consistently doing a 4-hr "long" stretch first, then 3, but wakes up after an hour and I let him sleep in bed, he goes right back to sleep with some cuddles.
@FaithFertility: Aww, sucks she is so bad with a bottle. Poor DH! I actually suggested a bottle to DH last night for Ethan when he was fussy before bed(since it seems to be working for @Winniebee!) and then when he said ok, I couldn't do it, lol. I love that time too much!

Is anyone else dealing with cradle cap? Ethan's had it for 3 months but its gotten pretty bad lately. He gets a bath every-other night and I usually rub on olive oil 15 min. prior, then use a cradle-cap shampoo, then regular shampoo, all with the scrub brush. That was working pretty well, but this week not so much, I think its starting to bother him. I plan on getting some baby oil tonight (instead of using olive); any other suggestions? Should I wash every night instead of every-other?
I don't think the cradle-cap shampoo is really doing anything.

I can't keep up.. :). Just got back from 4 month appointment . She's doing great! She had a major growth spurt and moved up to 50% in length. She certainly didn't get that from me. We have been doing one afternoon nap in zipadeezip and it's our best nap by far, 2+ hours. Busy here, one of the dads from our playgroup had a heart attack after running marathon last week, so I'm making and bringing them dinner today. It's so crazy, he is in great shape athletically and young. Scary..

@banddmommy: it's working well! i'm doing it for one nap a day right now, just to get her used to it before she starts rolling and really needs it. we call her the starfish when she's wearing it
@josina: i only give E a bath once a week or so. her dry scalp/cradle cap seems to only be bad the first day post-bath; after that, i think her natural oils keep it at bay! it's super-dry out here though, and her skin gets flaky if i bathe her much more than that.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I don't know how/why! She was taking one whenever she was in the car... And then suddenly one day I gave it to her for sleeping and she took it. But the annoying thing is when it comes out of her mouth she wakes up! (unless she's already asleep)
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: oh no it's always terrible to hear, esp when there are young ones involved
@KayKay: haha yes they look like a funky star fish!! And when she thrashes around it's even funnier!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@josina: h has it, although pretty mild. He's getting daily baths (BC he LOVES them; thanks for that bath sling rec!!), but I only wash his hair every few days. I just use Mustela shampoo, and it seems to help well.

@BandDmommy: glad she had such a good appt!! Sorry about your friend

@josina: very minor here so I just rub with washcloth during bath time

@josina: M has cradle cap & the pediatrician we saw said to use baby oil & a fine tooth comb 15 minutes before a bath. Then when bathing, wash his hair with Selsun Blue shampoo & use hydrocortisone 1% ointment twice a day for the itchiness. Seems to be helping & it's drastically reduced it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Logan's got cradle cap bad. Xander had it bad as a baby too. I don't do anything special for it really, except sometimes I'll put Aquaphor or Hydrocortisone on him, just like I do for his eczema, because I think the dry skin itches. It'll eventually go away. I wouldn't bathe more often though - that dries out their skin.
@BandDmommy: Yay for a good appointment! But so sorry to hear about your dad friend! That's so scary!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@theotherstark: Aww. Glad he loves the bath! Ethan loves baths too in the sling; he recently found his toes so he's constantly grabbing them in the bath in between splashes!
We actually missed bath night the other night - so went 3 days instead of 2 and thats when his cradle cap was the worst; and if I skip the olive-oil treatment it can get bad too. I will be picking up some baby oil for sure and some Hydrocortisone - thanks @AngelicOne: @Adira: ! I'll keep the selsun blue in mind too!

@josina: we use olive oil too. We really only do it every other week or so, then was it off in the bath with baby soap/shampoo. We don't actually give her baths that often, but that's because she isn't a huge if them.

We used baby oil and a fine comb for C at the recommendation of the pediatrician. On K, I used coconut oil and a soft bristle brush.
K seems to have forehead issues (as did C!), she rubs her forehead all the time with the back of her hand. C would use her fingernails and claw it until it bled.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: funny you say that G rubs her forehead on my shirt or shoulder when I hold her or will with her hand.....just thought she was being silly, but maybe it is dry.....doesn't look dry!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: @FaithFertility: Logan scratches at his forehead - he has eczema and the skin is dry. Hydrocortisone helps.

@AngelicOne: Glad he had a good appointment. They're all getting so big!
@theotherstark: Yay for more sleep! I hope it gets better for you soon.
@FaithFertility: Sorry that she's still having trouble with the bottle It must have felt nice to get out by yourself!
@BandDmommy: That's horrible. Glad you can help the family!

Just got home from work so I haven't seen either of the kids in over 24 hours I miss them.

@Adira: I shouldn't complain. I'm very lucky to be able to work part time. Everything has its pros and cons! Happy to be nursing baby J right now though. There's nothing cuddly about the pump!
