Ugh, I'm feeling sick, but I'm not sure if it's m/s or the stomach bug I just had.

I haven't been on here in so long! Morning sickness has been really bad and I've had a few illnesses on top of it. Actually tested positive for the flu this past Saturday and now my son has it too!

Everything pregnancy wise is going well though. I ended up going back on progesterone and just had my level rechecked yesterday. I've had 3 ultrasounds already and will continue to have them weekly in the first tri. We waited until we saw a heartbeat to book all my normal appointments so they're all very late!

Welcome and congrats to all the new mamas on here and I hope everyone is getting through the best they can

@theotherstark: Here's my (large) as of now list of appointments: 4/29 ultrasound, 4/30 genetic counseling, 5/14 nurse visit, 5/21 first official ob visit.

@cram88: I'm sorry you've been sick! Glad everything is going well related to the pregnancy.

@theotherstark: You can put my appointment date at 5/2 at 8 weeks!

@Adira: Maybe both lol. I feel so blah everyday, fatique combined w/ slight nausea...

@cram88: Yuck... I hope you and your son feel better soon! But it's exciting that you got lots of appts coming up!

Ugh my cravings are outta control. I'm dragging DH to have Korean for lunch b/c I've been craving it so badly!

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@snowjewelz: I'm thinking it must be m/s. I just ate and now I feel better! Plus with the stomach bug, I was experience stomach cramping, but this was just nausea! Plus I'm 6 weeks, so it's right on time, haha.

Question: I am having cramps, sometimes like gentle pulling cramps which seem normal to me when your body is making room and other times, AF like cramps. AF would be due tomorrow. No spotting. I am kinda scared because I am afraid this means AF is coming after all. Is this normal?

  11. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@simplyfelicity: I had a ton of cramping immediately after BFP that lasted for over a week too! They were a little worse than AF cramps, and also lower. I was scared but it went away!

  12. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @Adira: It's exactly how I've been feeling... I'm nauseous when I DON'T eat!

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@simplyfelicity: Yes, normal! I had a ton of cramping or pinching immediately after my BFP. By 6 weeks, it's pretty much gone, but those first couple weeks, it happened a lot. Very normal!

  14. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

@Adira: @snowjewelz: Thank you! Did yours feel like AF? I am not doubling over or need to lie down but they feel pretty intense for a moment. I am probably thinking about them too much which makes it worse. Now I am feeling the ones that are the pulling near the belly button. I don't mind those, those make me feel like baby is getting comfy but the others, the AF ones, are scary. Sorry if I am incoherent, I am a bit frazzled. I feel like I have a cramp circus going on in here!

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@simplyfelicity: I never had much cramping with AF, so I can't say for sure. But the pinching after the BFP is so normal, but can definitely be scary if this is your first pregnancy!! I remember being so freaked out the first time around because of it!!

@simplyfelicity: I had cramps and backaches that felt like AF. It's normal, apparently!

  17. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@simplyfelicity: Yes, but I could tell it's a bit different. I was def really scared... But just have to get through it. Remember that there's a lot going on down there so cramping would be normal!

  21. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@simplyfelicity: Yeah, I was freaked out b/c my normal AF cramps weren't even that bad. I think I read somewhere that your body might still think it's got AF and trying to go through the motions until it realizes that it's pregnant. Hugs I hope they go away soon so you can feel better!

  22. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@simplyfelicity: It's just your uterus stretching and growing to make room for baby. I had them pretty bad until 7/8 wks last time. Don't fret!

  23. missybear

    grape / 88 posts

@simplyfelicity: Don't worry, that's normal!! My cramping felt exactly like AF and I was such a basket case. But it went away a little over a week ago (I'm 8 weeks tomorrow) and now I just get some stretching pains every now and then but it's a lot less constant and doesn't feel like AF anymore.

@theotherstark: Yay for your u/s tomorrow!! Can't waiit to see pics of your little love

I am so stinking sick. I am at my wits end with this... I had to leave work early yesterday, which is not something I wanted to do but after throwing up 7 times at work, and then getting 6 vials of blood drawn on my lunchbreak, I just couldn't handle it. It was so nice going home and resting though! I've started taking a half dose of unisom at night along with b6 in the mornings and evenings, which my OB said should help. I also got some sea bands, and I feel a bit better right now, but this morning was so rough I didn't know if I could make it through today! Hoping to start feeling some relief soon.

Also am super excited for my ultrasound on friday! My numbers from a blood draw I had a while ago (at 25dpo) were really high so now I'm nervous for twins, but I know betas don't mean anything. But still haha if I'm not stressing about one ting, I'm stressing about another!

Is anyone else getting shooting pains in their boobs? At night when I roll over or sit up, I get what feels like lightning striking from the sides of them to my nipples, and it is super weird/painful. Just wondering if I am a lone weirdo in this?

@missybear: @winniebee: Thank you ladies! You have made me feel so much better. I am only 14 dpo, found out at 10 and I like this baby so much! I will relax.:)

@missybear: I'm sorry you are so sick. It seems like nausea meds should help have you considered that?

I'm worried about twins because I'm already so big at 5w but know it is irrational.

It will be interesting to see if anyone is pregnant with twins.. there are a LOOOOOT of mamas on this board.. I am 100% a singleton pregnancy, confirmed through U/S.

What are you guys doing for nauseau? I'm about to lose it... Water makes me sicker.. Ginger ale doesn't work.. I used sea bands when I got sea sick on a cruise and they just make my wrist hurt... I have yet to throw up at work, but I have a feeling that day is coming soon.. so far I just dry heave at my desk.. and I don't think I'm sick enough to need a prescription for morning sickness...

    grape / 88 posts

@winniebee: I have thought about it, and if this doesn't work then I'll go that route. I just would rather not if I can avoid it... so fingers crossed that this works for me Plus, I've heard the meds cause constipation, which is NOT something I need more of at the moment haha (tmi? sorry)

  31. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@littlek: OMG, the image of your dry heaving just made ME dry heave! Thanks a lot, lol!

I have no advice. My m/s just started and I ate something and felt better, but it was back 2 hours later and eating again didn't seem to help this time... boo!

  32. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@missybear: I def had a lot of pain on my right boob just last night!

@littlek: I am a singleton too haha. I secretly want twins so I can be done w/ labor once lol

Do you want to ask your doctor for real medicine for nausea if nothing is working?

  33. missybear

    grape / 88 posts

@littlek: not sure how much help I'll be since I'm also super sick, but I'm dooing sea bands even though they hurt because if they help a little, it's worth it to me. My OB recommends trying to take 100mg of vitamin b6 in the am and pm, and then if that doesn't help, add half a tablet of unisom in the pm, and go up to half a tablet in the am and a full one in the pm if you need to. I just started that last night and I'll let you know how it works for me. I feel ya on the terrible nausea though.

I was scrolling through the posts and am super jealous of everyone's dark lines...mine were so light at 10,11, 12 dpo. I am 14 dpo and haven't POAS since 12 dpo because DH won't "let" me. My lines were getting darker just barely but some of you had lovely dark lines from the get-go. I just keep reminding myself that positive is positive, and I got a positive digi. I never thought I would have dark line pee stick envy!

@simplyfelicity: Aww don't worry about it! Or just go by digital haha, everyone gets the same answer!

Oh man, so I have been such a bottomless pit until today. I was absolutely famished, yet I only could finish half of what I can usually eat! And I feel so full like I ate 3x what I ate...

@missybear: I already take B6. Let me know how the unisom works for you though.
