I'm not talking, your practice doesn't do cervical checks. What I mean is, you see several practitioners within that practice, and one of them just doesn't do the checks. Or, for that matter, other things the other practitioners do -- like measuring your belly, etc.
I go to a combination practice with two doctors and two midwives and (usually) rotate among the four so we're comfortable with whomever delivers. At 35 weeks, I saw one of the doctors and he did a check along with my Group B swab. The past two weeks, I've seen a midwife (two weeks in a row for some reason even though I was scheduled to see the other doc yesterday) who both times said, "I'm not going to bother with a cervical check."
I know they're sorta useless and I was even toying with declining them, but now that I'm not getting them routinely, the curiosity is killing me! I find it kinda weird that she doesn't do them but the doc does. I feel like it should be consistent practice-wide. And I've had some pink discharge and random cramping, so I would like to know if that's a result of any progress.
Did you have random doctors/midwifes in your practice who didn't do the same stuff other doctors/midwives there did do?
