I went to an expecting multiples class and the instructor suggested asking our dr about getting a temporary disability placard.
I never even thought about it. I'm okay with getting around now so I don't see the need. I don't think I'll ever need it but I have no idea if I'll be put on bed rest later and might need it.

I didn't have multiples, but I did have a temp disabled placard after my knee surgery. It definitely came in handy and I can see that being able to park close when pregnant (esp with twins) would be a nice perk.

My friend who had triplets did not. She gave birth at 34.5 weeks. She lives in the suburbs and she says parking wasn't hard to find.

@bluestriped bee: My dr and I actually discussed this at my last appointment. I work on a huge campus and parking is a pain. It's far from my actual office and outside! So I was going to try and stick it out, but I'll be asking at the next appointment to move forward with it.

We don't have a car but I will say by around 33-34 weeks, I could barely walk so if it was applicable, I definitely would have appreciated it!

I think you should definitely get one if you can! It would be handy to have in a pinch even after the the babies are born.

I didn't have one, it wasn't mentioned to me and didn't even cross my mind. I will say though that towards the end just getting to the bathroom was a major struggle and very painful.

I'm pregnent with a single and wish I had one sometimes. We are currently experiencing a heat wave and waddling through the parking lot in what feels to be an oven is uncomfortable. Also I'm generally lazy and like pregnancy perks..

When did it get really bad? 34 or 36 weeks? Or maybe earlier? Oh, were you put on bed rest at all?

My doctor offered during my first pregnancy (singleton) because I was on bed rest starting at 20 weeks and she didn't want me walking AT ALL. I ended up declining, though. It just seemed weird.

@bluestriped bee: I'll be honest and say I was pretty miserable my entire pregnancy. It got really bad around 32 or so weeks and progressively worse from there to the point it was very painful. I'm smaller framed and having all that weight/strain was really tough. I was put on modified bed rest around 34 weeks (was told not to work anymore, to rest as much as possible and limit my activity) and delivered at 36weeks.
