Told immediate family and my coworkers all between 5 and 9 weeks. I was so sick and there were so many family events I was missing and I was really dropping the ball at work... so something had to be said.

I'm the Queen of Privacy, I guess. We didn't tell family until 12 weeks, but we don't live near them. We didn't start really telling friends until 14-16 weeks in part because we wanted to tell some people in person. We have said nothing on Facebook, but neither one of us posts things there nor do we care about it as a channel of communication (my DH doesn't even log on anymore). The people who we really want to know now know.

I told my parents right away. I had a prior MC and I was terrified of losing another one so I needed my mama! We told my ILs and our siblings and some close friends after the first ultrasound at 8 weeks. Then after the NT scan at 12 weeks we told extended family and friends and told everyone they could share the news. Facebook didn't know until my friend posting baby shower pics when I was like 34 weeks along.

No, we heard the heartbeat twice and then had a mc so I'm glad we didn't.

We told my mom and BFF SIL when I got the BFP (both times, they were amazing when we lost the first one). We told DH's family at just over 7 weeks, because it was Xmas, we were all together, and it was obvious by how much I was sleeping/turning down alcohol. We told my immediate family and our closest friends after our 8 week U/S and announced on social media after our NT scan at 13 weeks.

@Beebug: You sound more like us. 13 weeks for closest friends, 20+ weeks for everyone else. I didn't show at all until mid to late 20 weeks (like 28 for most people to recognize it) so I was pretty safe with the secret.

For my first pregnancy we told our closest friends and family right after we found out, but waited til 12 weeks to share with everyone else. With the 2nd pregnancy, we went public at around 8 weeks. I kind of felt like I had to because that week fell on a bachelorette weekend for a wedding I was in, and I felt bad saying I couldn't do anything (clubbing/drinking... parasailing... wine tasting). Announcing it made it more understandable instead of them thinking I was a party pooper.
