I gained over 45 pounds with Charlie and he was 8 lbs 6oz, which is a big baby for someone my size.
I gained 22 pounds with Olive (but she was born 5 weeks early) and she was 4 lbs 15 oz. Even if I had gone full term she wouldn't have been as big as Charlie, so I definitely think the amount of weight I gained correlated with the baby size!

I gained ~34 lbs with both kids and they were 7lbs 11oz and 7lbs 5oz - so yes I guess it did correlate

Overall I gained 19lbs (but lost 15 at the beginning, so I was only 4lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight) and E was 8lbs, 12 oz. My midwife told me after the birth that I was a textbook case of the baby taking exactly what they need from the mother.

I think it might have. I gained 45ish lbs and DD was 9 lbs, 5 ounces. DH and I are both thin, I was under 7 lbs and he was 8lbsish as a baby...I don't know how else to explain our giant kiddo! My doctor said weight gain wasn't to blame and that I am just made to have big babies.

Not in my case. I gained almost 60 pounds and she was 7lbs 9oz.. not tiny, but pretty average I think

I gained 30-35 (had swelling at theend) and she was almost 8 lbs 10 oz. I knew I would have a big baby, my sisters had yet to have a baby under 8 lbs, so I expecte dher to be big even though my doctor said she didn't think she would be even 7.

I gained 38-40 lbs near the end and DS was 8 lbs 11 oz. But I only lost 12 lbs or so immediately PP and was stuck there for a month? ... I don't think all the wt I gained went to baby!

I think so. I gained 70+ lbs (twins) and they were 7 lbs, 1 oz and 6 lbs 9 oz.

No, not for me. I gained 15 lbs, and drs were predicting a 6 lb baby, even during labor! He came out at 8 lb 5 oz, we were all shocked!

Gained 33 with LO 1 and she was 8 lb 1 oz at 41 weeks.
Gained 14-15 with LO 2 and she was 7 lbs 14 oz at 39 weeks. I had GD and followed a meal plan.

I've gained 15 pounds at 36 (almost 37) weeks. They are estimating that the baby will be 8+, so we will see soon!

He's not here yet but on every growth scan has been clearly very small, almost IUGR, whereas I've gained around 25 lbs at 28 weeks. They did comment that I'm at a really high percentile for amniotic fluid!

I gained 28 as of the morning I went into labour and he was 7 lbs 13 ounces. 12 days pp and I've got 6 left to go so I think it was the right amount.

Nope. I gained upwards of 30 pounds and had a 5.5 lb baby...am looking on track for a similar gain/baby size this time. I think that seems like a lot to gain for such small kiddos, but it came off quickly so I won't complain.

Yes second time I gained a lot more and had a bigger baby. I think it has to do with the fact that I also had a bigger/healthier placenta.

I suppose so. I gained 38 lbs and had a 8 lb 4 oz baby. I am hoping to gain less this time around but still have a good size baby since I hear they eat/sleep better than a "small" baby??

Possibly?? I gained about 35 and had a 7 lb baby - I think both those weights are pretty average.

I'd have to see with #2 if I gained more and had a bigger baby I think? I'm only 34.5 weeks but I've gained only 8 lbs and as of my last u/s LO was measuring at like 53% for weight. So realistically she will probably be at least an average sized baby if not a little bigger, despite a low weight gain from me. But maybe if I'd gained 30 she'd be a monster baby. lol

Nope. I gained 45 lbs with LO and she was full term and only 6 lbs, 10 oz. Guess it was all MY fat and not baby, hehe!

Maybe? I gained a lot and she was big (10lbs8oz), but big babies also run in my family. I was 9lbs14oz.

No. With S she was 10 pounds, but I had only gained 10 pounds total.
Now, with LO, I gained 14 lbs, but he's estimated only being a little under 8 pounds.
For me, it was all about controlling my GD.
ETA: LO will be born the same day (39w 1d) as S came out.

Lb9 oz. Although my midwife said the amount if sugar one eats influences baby size (I don't know if that's true) and I was eating really healthy. Who knows.

I had GD, gained 35 pounds, and delivered a 7 lb, 10.5 oz. baby. I definitely think that controlling my blood sugar helped a lot.

Nope. I only gained 24, but had an almost 9 lb baby. I had GD though, so that contributed to both (I couldn't eat as much junk, so my weight stayed the same the last few months, but he was still big).

Gosh I hope so. I am currently 15 weeks and have lost, rather than gained. I'm hoping to keep gaining to a minimum, but we will see how that works (because of my starting weight, midwife only wants me to gain 11-20). My MIL had giant babies though, and I am terrified of the same. My BIL was 11.5 pounds! And DH was over 10.
My family were about 7-8 though (with the exception of a preemie) and so maybe baby will follow my line...

Maybe? I gained 25 pounds and he was 6 lbs, 13 oz. even with me having GD. I gave birth to him at 39w, 6d, so full term. I was closely monitoring my sugar and carb intake...so @JessKas, your midwife might be right!

I don't really know, but I don't think so. I gained 40ish lbs, and he was 6 lbs 10 oz, but he was 4.5 weeks early. I think that if he was born closer to his due date he would have been easily 8.5 lbs, but I probably would have gained more too.

I gained one pound with J2 and he was 9lbs. I have gained 24lbs with J3 and they say he is measuring 2 weeks ahead. J2 measured the exact same at this point in the pregnancy. It will be interesting to see.
