No i don't think so. Gained above average, had an average sized baby. I'm not exactly a tiny woman myself.

OMG...I'm reading through all the comments and can't believe how much I gained compared to everyone else! @rachiecakes: you made me feel a little better about my weight gain!
I gained over 50lbs and my LO was 8lbs 8oz. I'm 5 feet and usually weight around 105...I was HUGE and my body is still so damaged from carrying around all that weight

Eh, not really. The amount of weight I gained correlated with my activity level/eating habits lol.
DS- Gained 48 pounds. Baby was 7 pounds 6 ounces at 38+5.
DD- Gained 25 pounds. Baby was 6 pounds 7 ounces at 39+1.

Not really. With LO 1 I gained 30 lbs and she was 7 lbs at 40+6. With LO 2 I gained 18 lbs and she was 7 lbs 7 oz at 39+5. I was extremely ill with both, more so with the second, and fought hard to gain every lb.

Nope, not at all for me! With my daughter, I gained close to 60lbs, she was 9lbs, 9oz, and 2 post due. With my son, I struggled to gain weight, and gained only 10 or 15lbs. He was 9lbs. 13oz and one week post due.

I gained 26 pounds and Sadie was 7lbs 10oz. I think both numbers are average.

I gained 13 lbs (it was 17, but then I caught the norovirus 1 week before labor/delivery and lost 4 lbs in a few days, it was HELL). DS was 7 lbs 4 oz.

Not at all. I think my weight gain correlated with how much chocolate I ate though.

Don't know yet. I gained 40 pounds with #1 and he was 10 lbs 9 oz. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with another boy and have gained around 21 pounds so far. But I've got GD this time so my diet is different. Even so, I think I was gaining less anyway and last time I retained a lot of fluid. We'll see how big this one is.

Well, I gained 50lbs and had a 9lb baby, but we'll see after this time. I'm almost at 26 weeks and haven't gained anything! The midwife is predicting this baby will be a lot smaller.

No. I gained 50 pounds and had an average size baby - 7 lbs 14 oz. Plus he was 9 days overdue!

I gained about 50 lbs and had an 8 lb 12oz 22" baby... so maybe?
A lot of the weight was fluid, even though I didn't have pre-e, I had a TON of swelling.

I gained the exact same amount with both pregnancies, 32 lbs, but had babies weighing nearly a pound different - 7 lbs 6 oz for the first and 8 lbs 2 oz for the second. With both babies, I only lost about 12 lbs in the initial few weeks so it clearly wasn't all going to baby! I think I'm just destined to gain 32 lbs during pregnancy regardless of the baby size!
ETA: DD1 was born on her due date and DD2 arrived 8 hours after her due date, so pretty much exact same gestation time for both.

I don't think so. I gained 28 with #1 and she was 7.13 and I gained 25 with #2 and she was 8.9.

Now with #3, I've gained 10 lbs and I've got 16 weeks to go.

@sandy: don't feel bad! I was 116 when I got pregnant with DD and gained 70 pounds!! DD was only 7 lbs13oz
