I'm pretty sure when we post the baby gender announcement on Facebook, we'll also include the baby name. We are 100% set on name already, so no worries on changing our minds.
For those of you who weren't keeping the name a secret, just wondering if others announced both on Facebook. If not, did you announce the name at all ?

@runnerd: we announced at the shower! My friend made this beautiful banner that's now hanging in her room! We've also reused it at her first birthday party.

We didn't announce the name on Social Media (except HB) until she was born. However, my SIL used it in one of her statuses and spelled it wrong and I flipped out. Like, crying as I called my husband telling him to take care of it NOW flipped out. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't already told his aunt we weren't sharing.

We didn't announce gender on FB, but did when people asked. We didn't decide on a name until a few days before the baby shower since everyone was pressuring us for personalized things.

We're not finding out until LO is born, so we wouldn't be able to NOT announce a name with the gender. However, if we change our mind and find out sooner, we still won't announce the name. That we're 100% keeping to ourselves until birth. My SIL did announce the name at the same time as the gender, and pretty sure both my cousins did too.

Nope. Didn't tell the name till she was born. So happy we did it that way even though my family was super annoyed with me.

I don't plan on telling anyone our name choices until the baby is born and it's on the birth certificate lol. I just don't want to hear people complain they don't like what we chose. They'll have to shut their mouths when the kid is officially named though.

We announced gender when we were for sure at 22 weeks but haven't announced the name yet on social media...not sure when we will do that.

We never annoucned name on social media (well besides here). I wanted a little surprise, even though we didn't keep it a complete secret. Next time I hope to keep it a secret!

We didn't *have* a name until about 2 days before DD was born, so we never announced, but I have a lot of friends* who announce as soon as they know gender.
*This seems to be a southern thing especially - my friends all say they are announcing so people can get personalized/monogrammed gifts.

We had no idea about names until at least 30ish weeks both times, so finding out by 15 weeks we wouldn't have had a name to announce anyway.

We didn't announce the name when we announced gender to anyone outside of family and close friends. I'm not keeping it a huge secret though so when people ask I tell them.

I announced his name the same day I announced his gender on FB. Just not at the same time because we hadn't settled on a middle name. It didn't take us long to pick one out for sure.

@runnerd: I know tons of people who did, but we kept the name secret til birth. Well except for my hairdresser, dental hygienist, a few co-workers, lol.

Yep, we did. I knew people were going to start bugging the hell out of me about their name choices once we announced the gender, so it was much easier that way.
This time around I doubt it will happen that way because we're being so indecisive about names.

@septca: hmmmm guilty! I live in the south so I totally expect people will want to be personalized items 
although I'm not really into that, my friend who just have babies got monogrammed blankets and burp cloths.

Nope, we had a gender reveal party in December but we're keeping the name under wraps until he's here. I want something for DH to announce. And I do not want feedback!

We did because it was obvious. DS is named after DH and FIL. I made sure that people knew we were calling him a different nickname though

We announced pregnancy, gender and name at the same time. I don't see the point in not telling people the name, they will figure it out regardless.

It's interesting to me how many people keep the name a secret. I don't know one person in IRL who saved name until after birth!
I guess I have no fears of people's opinions on our name! I love it, and will make that clear. If someone dares to be rude enough to not smile and say lovely name to this pregnant woman, they will be the ones in the wrong getting some horrible reactions in return from me!!

I am due on Sunday. We haven't shared our name choice or even our short list with anyone IRL. (I did post a poll on HB several months ago, though!)
I don't want anyone's opinion about his name, and once he's born and the name is selected then no one will have the opportunity to influence our choice.
His middle name will be my deceased FIL's first name, which is also my husband's middle name. We have shared that with people since it's pretty non-controversial as the baby's other three grandparents are all still alive.

We're keeping it to ourselves in case of the 1% chance we change our minds once we meet him. Plus I like the idea of having something that's a surprise.
Our friends seem to be 50/50 on whether or not they share.

We announced our babies names when we announced gender. For us, calling our LO's by name before they are born is part of the bonding process.
Fwiw, we didn't get any personalized items with our son's name on it even though people knew it in advance of the showers! I think personalization is pretty rare these days but maybe that's just in our circle.

We haven't shared any name ideas with anyone & even when we are sure we will keep it a secret until he's born. Between family, friends, coworkers, and 100+ students at school I'm scared we will get too many opinions!
