My husband is such a nerd. He announced our pregnancy on FB using a Super Troopers reference and a hilarious picture of himself.

We posted this pic. I didn't have time to do something more creative (or even put on make-up apparently...)
Later another couple posted a really FUNNY pic. They were at the bookstore and reading the book "Parenting For Dummies."
I also used this little clip in our email to close friends and family.

I didn't post anything on Facebook yet. I posted a picture of my bump on Twitter at 13 weeks to "out" myself I think I might post something on Facebook once we find out the gender in 3 weeks!

Right, I made my announcement! I went with @sea_bass: suggestion! I posted the scan picture and a status reading "I know nobody wants to see a picture of up-my-hooha but I need you all to like this and congratulate me. What's a girl to do?"
Thanks for all the advice and ideas! There were some really great ones!!

@Cherrybee: Love it!!
We haven't announced yet, too early for me. We did announce with a bump picture at 20 some weeks with this saying "A little something we've been working on, should be finished early October ; ) " and tagged my husband.

We posted this picture with this "Double the sweetness, double the grins, double the trouble: the ______s are having twins!"
We told everyone we're close to before we put it on FB, though, because I like to hear the good news personally from my friends and family!

We just announced on Facebook two nights ago. We told our parents at Thanksgiving, our close family at Christmas, our close friends through phone calls at the official 12 weeks, after our NT scan, so the Facebook announcement were basically for people we don't see all that often, old coworkers, very distant family, etc.
I posted pictures of semi-famous half white/half south asian people (Nigel Barker, Christine Merrill, Ben Kingsley, Norah Jones) and asked what they all have in common. Then I said..."They're all 1/2 south asian and half white, just like Baby M-----------, coming July 2013.

I only announced on Facebook once my close peeps and family had all been notified. We definitely wanted to use social media, because SO many of our friends live overseas.
We used this picture, but put a message in front - not everyone knew we'd been struggling to conceive, and I wanted it to STOP being a secret.

After 20 months of trying for a baby...
After forking out a ridiculous amount of money on doctor visits...
After cycle tracking and stacks of medications...
After disappointment time and time again...
And after two fresh rounds of IVF...
... we're cautiously excited to share our news with all of you! We're not out of the woods yet & have a few issues to contend with, but we are ridiculously happy people right now.
