I haven't been feeling well for a week or so but the last few days have been pretty bad with tons of coughing and phelgm. I guess it might be time to see a Dr.
I don't think I got sick during my last pregnancy? Did you get sick while you were pregnant? Did you take antibiotics?

i've luckily been able to avoid being sick... and with less than two wks to go; i'm contemplating when/if i should get the flu shot post-delivery this year.

I got horribly sick twice during pregnancy. Once in first trimester (ear infection) and once during second tri (sinus infection).
I tried to go as long as possible without medication. Eventually I broke down and went to the minute clinic. The minute clinic sent me to the ER.
Both times I was prescribed antibiotics. I filled the prescription but refused to take the antibiotics. Things cleared up on their own but seemed to take forever to get better. Part of me thinks I should have just taken the antibiotics.
Either way, if you're not feeling well go see your doc!

I've had 2 colds so far, totally not fun! Didn't take much--Tylenol once or twice and Unisom to help me sleep. And lots of OJ.

I have not gotten sick during pregnancy- I call on Dr's offices for a living and I swear I have the immune system of an ox from years of battling off germy waiting rooms!

yep! just got over some nasty virus thing. i never get sick, but this thing put me out of commission for over a week! i never went in to the doctor for antibiotics, but i did call to make sure it wasn't the flu. the doctor let me know that us pregos are more likely to get sick, since our immune systems don't work as hard (so our bodies won't fight off the baby).

Thanks ladies! My Dr says I have a upper respiratory tract infection that he will not prescribe meds for...just rest and drink water. He says it will take longer for it to pass but he doesn't want to give meds that might harm my baby.
Time to watch some soaps?!

Yep, I got a nasty cold in my first trimester. I was miserable and the only thing I could take was cough drops.
I'd stay away from antibiotics unless they're really needed. They're so overprescribed nowadays and leading to even worse bugs. If it's a virus you have, they won't do any good anyway.

@autumnlove: Hope you feel better! It's such a bummer to be pregnant and sick at the same time.
I had a cold for about 4 weeks after I found out I was pregnant, and I just got another one about a week ago and it's still here. I feel like the worst hasn't come yet, so I've been drinking tons of water and trying to eat healthier.
I still need to figure out where I stand on the flu shot though. I need to do more research, but I'm assuming if I'm going to get one, I should soon!

I got two sinus infections while pregnant, and it was awful! Especially during the first tri when you can't take anything at all. Hope you feel better soon!

I had a horrible cold when I was 5 weeks pregnant. I didn't take anything during it and eventually got better, but it lasted FOREVER.

@autumnlove: Awh, hope you feel better soon!! I was fortunate and didn't come down with anything more than a little cold while I was pregnant, but I can't imagine being sick + pregnant, and not being able to take any meds
