When I was 8 mo preggo, I went to the liquor store and bought some vodka to make vanilla extract for holiday goodies, and the cashier totally gave me the stink eye. I just ignored her. Not her business.

I drank decafe and STILL got the stink eye...mind your business yo!

This week DH is on vacation and it's also my last week of work. I swelled out of my rings last week so I leave them at home. I'm also being lazy and not wearing makeup or doing my hair since DH is gone and I don't see anyone at work all day. I'm tiny do I probably look like a pregnant 12 year old. People gave me weird looks at lunch yesterday.

We went to my BIL's wedding when I was 7 months pregnant and I asked DH to get me a glass of wine. While at the bar, BIL asked DH if he really thought it was a good idea to let me drink. It was just one glass! And, wow, the looks I got from the other guests as I sipped it. Ugh.

@Cherrybee: that's gutsy. i don't think i would have had the balls to drink at a glass at a wedding. i chickened out at my baby shower. when DH and I shared those glasses it was typically at a restaurant just the two of us and he ordered it so the waiter probably assumed it was just for him!

I can't believe an old person would do that? I have had older people tell me how they used to smoke and have a drink occasionally while pregnant.

I live in Seattle, where half the people have a mug permanently attached to their hand, so...nope. No judgment at coffee shops. In fact, a couple days ago when I was in a Sbux near my office, there were two other visibly pregnant ladies ahead of me in line!

With DD I was pregnant in France and no one really gave me any trouble. While in labor, I sat on a terrace with my mom and DH and had a glass of wine - no one cared I would love to be able to do the same thing here, and I just might. But people in the US can be much more self-righteous and some seem to feel it is their mission to get up in everyone else's business and be all judgmental and tell them how to live their lives.

*Of course, I'm making a sweeping generalization here - I know not everyone is like this

Yes! I drink a soda every now and then at work and there is this lady who tells me everytime how I don't need to be drinking that while pregnant. So annoying!

@Cherrybee: Funny, I went to my BIL's wedding at 37w - I had 2 glasses of champagne over the course of the day/night (there was no other way I was dragging my pregnant butt out onto the dance floor at 1am without that 2nd glass). No one batted an eye. I actually had to refuse alcohol that DH's family offered to me several times.

Yea bc my friends would give it to me when I ate sushi/sashimi and ate other things on the "no-no" list. I shrugged it off, I ate everything in moderation so it wasn't like I was overdoing it!

I was baffled the other day because I got the worst stink eye I've ever gotten at Chick-fil-a of all places! I almost took a picture of her because it was so intense and I couldn't believe it.

I had just gotten off work so I was still in business professional clothes and wearing my wedding rings...maybe it was because I ordered a Caffeine-free diet coke? ahh the horror ! I still can't figure it out...

I go to the starbucks by our house pretty often.... 2-3 times a week, and it's always the same people working. Sometimes I wonder what they think about me, but I think it's perfectly fine to order a tall latte and would tell them so if I got any judgi-ness! Ugh, people are annoying!

I once had the barista ask me if I was SURE I didn't want decaf. Uhh, yeah I'm sure. I've got a pretty serious case of resting bitch face though, so people mostly left me alone.

@Cherrybee: LOL, my sisters gave me the stink eye this weekend over that very thing! I had about two sips, and DH was totally on board. But they were FLIPPING OUT about it. Granted, they're all younger, but still.

Yes, I got it for drinking soda, eating chocolate, and having lunch meat. Like @blackbird: @grizz: I have resting bitch face, so most of the time people stfu.

I have not gotten stinkeye in any coffee shops that I know of. I have enjoyed wine/beer/champagne occasionally but once I started looking obviously pregnant I was too embarrassed to do it in public - I wish people were less judgemental, or that I wouldn't let it bother me. I have been to the liquor store several times and keep waiting for someone to say something to me, but nobody has batted an eye!

No stink eye, but when I had my glucose test (it's 2 hours by default here) the lab tech lady told me not to eat or SMOKE while I waited. As if! I guess it shows they are a lot more loose with what pregnant women are allowed to consume.

@Chastenet: you're in France? I have been wondering if there are any bees in France. We lived there last year (DH is French). We are in Austria now and the doctor has me going in every 6-8 weeks for toxoplasmosis tests. He said in Austria the rate of contracting it is around 50% and France is about 80% compared to the US which is about 20%.

I got straight up lectured once at Starbucks ... I was going into my 6th 12 hour shift, and I very clearly told her what I thought of her intrusion, it wasn't pretty, I guess you could say I snapped.
