With A I did here and there but with this pregnancy I find myself resting when A naps. I can't always fall asleep but I try and lay in bed and cozy up for a bit. Do you/did you nap a lot when you were pregnant?

I love naps! I can only nap during LO's naps these days, but I loved the freedom of napping with my first pregnancy. I'm counting down the minutes until I get a chance to nap today.

I loved naps when I was pregnant, which was strange since I'm not much of a napper. I snuck them in whenever I could

With E I napped in my car during my lunches a lot. This time I feel more tired but I can't shut my brain off to nap. Even yesterday afternoon DH sent me to bed to relax and have a snooze, but I just couldn't make it happen.

I'm almost 7 weeks and I'm napping almost every day!! I'm soooooooo tired.

I try to rest instead of nap. If I nap, I have a really hard time getting to sleep that night and it's better for me overall if I'm more rested at night. I get into this vicious not sleeping-napping-not sleeping-drinking Coke cycle, so I try to avoid it.

I did a ton with my first and was able to get tons of rest. Not so much now that I'm chasing a LO around!

I didn't with DD because I was working.
With DS I napped when DD napped and I napped sometimes while she was playing next to me.

I would pass out on the couch almost every day after work during my first and last trimesters. I was so exhausted!

I spent all of my pregnancy with S napping. I was so tired the entire time.
Yesterday when my first real feeling of "I need a nap" this time. I'm really dreading the exhausting part of this.

Oh yes, I was constantly exhausted. I napped almost every day of my pregnancy (sometimes twice). I never hit a point where I regained any energy.

Not really, I mean, I didn't have time, I was working 40+ hours a week. On the weekends, though, I could log a 5 hour nap each day!

I would take naps in my car during lunch when I was pregnant with E. This time I took a nap a day for basically the whole first tri (with E) and I still rest/take naps here and there.
Lately I've been trying to at least lay down for a while during his naps so I can feel the baby kicking and just enjoy it. I deal like I don't notice/dwell on her as much as I did when I was pregnant with E because I'm always trying to keep up with him so its nice to have that time just thinking about the little baby.

I napped a lot in the first tri. Now in the third the naps are back, but they're not nearly as long. Sometimes I would be out for 3 hours in the beginning!

Not really, but I'm getting to a point now where I'm definitely tired enough to just pass out randomly so I see more naps in my future!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Yes bc I was so exhausted! Even if I was at work, I tried to sneak away for 15-30 minutes to nap. Otherwise, I'd just fall asleep at my desk. No bueno.

I'm 25.5 weeks right now and I really haven't napped yet. I never got hit with fatigue early-on, and I think honestly I have only taken one "nap" since finding out I was pregnant--I had just bought my Snoogle and it was 8:30 at night and I was waiting for DH to get home so we could "go out." He got home at 9:00ish to find me passed out with my Snoogle. Ha.

I napped a lot on the weekends and I would be in bed some nights before 8 pm during the work week.

Yup. I napped the whole time! My DH kept saying I read my book and it said the tiredness would end after the first trimester- he just couldn't understand why I was so tired!

Oh yeah! I have narcolepsy, so since I can't take my medicine while pregnant, I have to rely on taking naps (usually in my car) to make it through the day.

During my first trimester there's always a couple weeks where I'm much more functional if I get a rest in. But after that I don't seem to need them. Right before LO was born I did start lying down more during the day but I never would fall asleep like I did during first trimester.

I find myself waking up at 6:30 or 7:00 on my own, then needing a nap by 9:00. I work from home, and I am very thankful for that, but I REALLY want to stop napping as I feel really unproductive.

Yes! During my first tri I took 2 naps a day AND went to sleep early...I was sooo exhausted I couldn't function.
pomegranate / 3759 posts
Yes especially during those first 3 months. Then I think I get on a routine and still need a nap even though im not AS tired.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Every once in awhile, but it's not like I could REALLY nap since I was at work all day. Sometimes putting my head down at lunch was helpful. But I did go to bed about 15-20 min earlier when I could.

Yup! Instead of taking a 15 min break w/my coworkers I'd lay under my desk w/the door shut and nap. Twice a day. Sometimes over my lunch break too...I was a sleepy beast!
