Just a change of clothes and toiletries! Dh and I have the same phone so we only needed one charger. We made sure to bring his laptop so he could work and browse. Free wifi at our hospital.

@mrskc: @Arden: What kind of snacks did you pack? I'm worried about smelling something and it making me feel sick (like beef jerky)

@highwire: I forgot snacks, we packed those too. DH had a jar of almonds, a box of granola bars, and a bag of trail mix. And bottled water.

@highwire: granola bars, trail mix and apples. He didn't even tap into them until after the baby was born but that was b/c I didn't get an epidural so he was busy helping me. It was nice having the apples for the both of us to get some fiber in.

Dh wanted a good pillow more than anything. My mom brought snacks (sandwiches, cheese sticks, fruit, granola) and we devoured that throughout the few days.

CHange of clothes, snacks (granola bars and some sports drinks) and ipad/charger. But my labor was pretty quick so we might have needed other stuff if it had been like a 24 hour process. After the baby was born, he went out to get real food for himself.

Definitely snacks. DH didn't eat them til after delivery. He stayed with me in the hospital and the hospital food for dads sucked.
The other thing not necessarily for dad but made us a big hit with the nurses was gum and lifesavers.

There are a ton of apps you can download ahead of time... for timing contractions, keeping track of diaper changes, etc.!
