    @TemperanceBrennan: Welcome fellow Wisconsinite!

Guys, the nausea is real today, I'm not excited to see it show up so soon. Someone is eating something rather "fragrant" and the smell is just turning my stomach.

@kiddosc: wow I can't believe the nausea has come for you already! That seems like a great sign at least! I want to say with my daughter mine started right at 5 weeks, which will be Monday for me. I better enjoy this weekend

@TemperanceBrennan: congratulations! I saw on the POAS thread that you got a bfp as an early bday present- I did too! My 30th was yesterday

@LibbyLou: any chance you can "share" beers with dh? I did that several times while pregnant with dd, and just took pretend sips. Also poured one out in the bathroom and filled the bottle with water once too. Tip: beer-flavored water tastes even worse when knocked up

@ms.line: good luck with your betas! I know how agonizing it is to wait for those- had them every other day for a couple of weeks with my cp in April and decided it was best for my sanity to not get them this time unless something hints toward an unhealthy pregnancy. Second guessing myself every day though...

congrats to all the new February moms!

@Mrs. Champagne: where about in Ontario do you live?

@LibbyLou: i am going to be in the situation on friday where i am going to visit a friend at a cottage overnight. There will for sure be drinking and originally i was looking forward to going and drinking with them!! I actually don't mind telling my friend i am pregnant as he is a super close friend, but i feel weird telling the other people that will be there so soon as i don't know them as well. I will probably end up telling everyone if they ask why i am not drinking though. For someone reason i don't care as much about following the 3 month rule this time around.

So what is everyone here doing for prenatal care? With my first LO, i had an OB, but i was not a fan of him. And i know that doesn't mean all OBs are the same, but from talking to friends who had midwives, it sounds like a better fit for me. So i am going with a midwife this time and i am really excited! They said they don't need to see me until I am 10 weeks along though!

    grapefruit / 4278 posts

@californiadreams: I'm going with an OB again this time. My insurance won't cover a midwife/birth center and I can't really justify the cost difference. I actually really liked my OB last time, but we've moved since then, so hopefully I mesh well with this new one.

@LibbyLou: Yay date twins! For your vacation, could you make a big batch of a mixer (non-alcoholic) that would be good with various alcohols - use that as an excuse - and then (sneakily) not put any alcohol in yours? In my friend group, we love Old Fashioneds, but I like it with brandy and my husband likes it with whiskey.

@kiddosc: Thank you! I hope the nausea gets better soon - or that people stop eating smelly food!

@CObee: Happy (belated) Birthday! What great presents!

@californiadreams: My insurance changed last year, so I found a new OB/GYN before I got pregnant. I've only had one annual exam with her, but I like her a lot. She will be my sole caregiver during the pregnancy and when it comes to delivery she will likely be on call. Towards the end of the pregnancy, I will meet the other 4 providers and if my doctor isn't available, it will be one of them. Since this is my first, I'm trying to go into everything very open minded so I don't have any unmet expectations.

@kiddosc: Where are you in Wisconsin, if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Madison

  12. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@kiddosc: @TemperanceBrennan: ah i hadn't thought of the insurance issue....so i guess it would depend if midwives are covered by insurance? In ontario, they are covered by our healthcare so it was just a matter of getting one that was available. And luckily i did because I called the day after i had my positive test.

  13. kiddosc

    grapefruit / 4278 posts

@TemperanceBrennan: I'm in Waukesha, so only about an hour away

@californiadreams: I've heard that midwife care is less expensive than being followed by an OB, but my prenatal visits would be covered 100% with an OB. So any cost, is more. It's silly to me, since the insurance company could be paying less for me to see a midwife... but there's a lot about US healthcare that's silly to me.

Hi all! Just got my second betas back today and they almost tripled in 48 hours (66 > 183), so I'm cautiously joining this thread.

    Location: Pittsburgh

    EDD: February 27, 2016

    How far along: 3w6d

    First child? Yes!!

First doctor appointment: I've already been in for two betas, and I'll have my first ultrasound at 5w3d.

Any symptoms so far? Yep! Bloating, cramping, backaches, mild nausea, both kinds of "bowel issues," and sore boobs. Such fun already.

Who have you told? Just DH. I'm contemplating telling my dad this Sunday for Father's Day, but I'm worried he'll blab it!

Congrats to everyone - wishing us all a healthy 9 months!

@CObee: Thank you! It is so nerve-wracking - I totally understand why you want to preserve your sanity. Hoping we both have a smooth-sailing nine months ahead of us!

I'm cautiously poking my head in here. Current EDD is Feb 28-March 1. I'm only 3w4d, so while I'm trying to celebrate the moment, I'm still cautious.

    @Crystal: congrats and welcome!

How is everyone feeling these days? Symptoms I've had are definitely the fatigue. I felt bad because i was so tired for Father's Day yesterday, I ended up "laying down for 2 minutes" and it turned into an almost 2 hour nap! I am so not a napper, that's how i know it is a pregnancy symptom!

  22. TemperanceBrennan

    pear / 1998 posts

@Crystal: Congrats! Welcome to the group!

@californiadreams: I'm feeling good. This whole things is so surreal to me. It's still sinking in.

I had so much to do leading up to the wedding I was in on Saturday, and we stayed out until 2:30 am, so I slept most of the day on Sunday. Not sure if that is pregnancy fatigue or just finally catching up on some much needed sleep!

Still hasn't sink in so I'm cautiously joining.

    EDD: 2/12

How far along: 6 weeks 3 days

First child: nope, DD is 20 months

First Dr appt: 7/7 - since I've known for 3 weeks now, it seems so far away.

Any symptoms so far? I had some cramping and bloating early on, along with having to pee all the time. That's all eased up and the fatigue is setting in. Nausea for as about 10 min maybe a couple of times a day. By this point with DD I was deathly sick, so of course I'm now concerned.

  24. NeonPink1234

    cherry / 107 posts

@californiadreams: I feel you! When DD was a newborn I never once took a nap, slept about 2-3 hours every 24 hour period. On Sat and sun both I napped when my toddler did.

I work full time so its not an option during the week, but I feel you. I'm not a napper.

  25. LibbyLou

    kiwi / 739 posts

@californiadreams: I'm feeling pretty good. 5weeks tomorrow. The cramping has stressed me out a little bit- no one told me of the daily cramping!
@temperancecbrennan sounds like you had a blast! I have a BFF wedding this weekend. Glad you caught up on sleep.
    @neonpink123 welcome!!!

  26. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@LibbyLou: i didn't know about the cramping either and it has freaked me out a few times, but I figured it must be my uterus stretching or something. I've no other scary or bad symptoms, so I am staying positive!

  27. NeonPink1234

    cherry / 107 posts

@LibbyLou: @californiadreams: with DD I had a lot of early cramping too. And after vaginal ultrasounds (in case anyone has one coming up). But of course, it didn't stop me from googling and slightly worrying this time around.

  28. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

I have a mild cramping/pulling/bloating situation going on a lot, too, and my lower back has been killing me since before I even POAS. I'm also dealing with terrible miscarriage anxiety - I figured I'd be anxious, but this is worse than I anticipated. I'm checking for blood all the time, and even had a dream last night that I miscarried. I have my first ultrasound in a week... trying to take it one day at a time, but easier said than done!

  29. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@ms.line: your ultrasound seems so early! Why are they doing it next week? My OB won't let me have one til 8 weeks.

Since I'm not super sure where I fit yet, I thought I'd do my intro just in case:

    Location: Sunny SoCal

    EDD: Feb 28- March 1

How far along: 3 weeks, 6 days based off O, but 4 weeks 2 days according to LMP.

    First child? YES!

First doctor appointment: had it last Friday. Ultrasound is July 17, Dr apt July 24.

Any symptoms so far? No, and I can't wait until I have some.

Who have you told? Only DH and I know.

  30. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@Crystal: Hope you stick around in February!
I've been seeing an RE, and I think they're a little more involved during the first trimester than a regular OB. I'll have my second ultrasound at 8 weeks - that's the one I'm really looking forward to!

Anyone's symptoms fading? My boobs are no longer sore and I'm hardly tired. Barely slept at all last night and I feel great.

  32. LibbyLou

    kiwi / 739 posts

@NeonPink1234: yes! No more sore boobs. I am still getting daily cramping but that also seems to be lessening.
Just like @ms.line I'm constantly worrying about a miscarriage. I always check for blood too.
I maybe feel a little off today but not sure if I'm trying to make up symptoms!

  33. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@NeonPink1234: I had like 2.5 days of nausea but now it's gone! I don't really want to feel sick again, but I also kinda do?? *cuckoo*

@libbylou: Glad to know I'm not alone in my neurosis!

Hi all! Glad to see so many joining the club. I'm still very worried about miscarriage. My first pregnancy ended at 7 weeks and my second gave me my son (20 months). My symptoms come and go. Some days I feel awesome.

At 6 weeks I was diagnosed with GD so I've been following the diet and checking my sugars. My weight gain is restricted so I meet with my doctor and dietician every 4 weeks.

  35. californiadreams

    pomegranate / 3411 posts

@NeonPink1234: now that you mention it, my boobs have not felt sore for a couple of days. I;m definitely still tired all the time though!

@ladybee: i didn't know you could get a GD diagnosis so early on

  36. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@californiadreams: I was insulin resistant (PCOS) and prediabetic before I got pregnant so I was diagnosed early.

  37. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@ms.line: oh! Yes, that makes sense then. I want an ultrasound now! Lol

@NeonPink1234: @LibbyLou: nice to hear your symptoms are fading! Yay!

I'm also terrified of a miscarriage. It took me 6 months to get pregnant the first time, and I lost it at about 6 weeks. It's taken over a year and a half since then to get a second BFP. I'm so worried I'll lose this one too. Ugh.

  38. NeonPink1234

    cherry / 107 posts

@LibbyLou: @ms.line: @ladybee: we are the same people. My husband had to remind me of packing pads in my purse bc I was convinced I was going to lose the pregnancy with DD, but that turned out great. I'm trying to remember that this time. Unlike many of you I haven't had a miscarriage, so I can't imagine what you are going through. But every one of my friends who is pregnant or trying right now has had a miscarriage in 2015. It happens so often that I think that's where the panic comes from. Also, I'm sure these hormones aren't helping us hide our crazy.

I'm midly nauseous but I had part of a pop tart for breakfast, and I never easy anything like that so I'm sure if be nauseous either way.

@ms.line: I was so miserable with DD that I dreaded that about getting pregnant again. Now that I feel okay, I want to be sick. Haha. Crazy.

Does anyone have any gender guesses? With DD from the moment I peed on the stick, I was convinced she was a girl. This time I'm convinced it's a boy. 50/50 shot right?

  40. ms.line

    pear / 1770 posts

@NeonPink1234: I feel boy! Like you said, I've got a 50% shot of being right.
