I'm absolutely freaking out - I haven't been very active on these boards lately, but I just got a positive test and aaaaaah! I'm assuming my EDD will be in February at this point. I'm REALLY hoping so, at least, since I just started a job with amazing benefits and I have to be there a year before their maternity leave takes affect. :S

Who have you told? I told my two best friends, my parents, and husband's parents.

Anyone here have to fib or pretend drink yet? We are extremely social and me turning down a glass of wine would never happen. We have a wedding coming up and a week-long trip with DH extended family. The vacation is at a lake house so full of day drinking and drinking games in the evening.
The wedding I think I can just hold a beer and/or get sprite with a lime. Any ideas for the week long vacation? Virgin sangria? Virgin Bloody Mary?
I'll only be 6weeks and his mom his such a worrywart. I want to wait till we have a heartbeat to spill the good news!
coconut / 8483 posts
@LibbyLou: I buy fake wine at the grocery store and put it in a real wine bottle. I also made fake sangria.
Good luck!!
kiwi / 739 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: what is this fake wine you speak of? Just NA? In the wine section?
coconut / 8483 posts
@LibbyLou: NA and it was in the regular drink section. (I'm in Ontario so no wine section at the regular grocery store)
grapefruit / 4278 posts
@Mrs. Champagne: Oh, I love the fake wine in a real wine bottle trick. I'm going to have to use that one.
@LibbyLou: I've done a root beer bottle in a bottle koozie before, but the smell could give you away. Maybe just an empty bottle in a bottle koozie. I don't think it's realistic to fake everyonet out for a whole week though. I know my family would catch on.

@LibbyLou: I feel you - I have a wedding in a week and a week long beach trip with extended family next month. I never turn down a drink (you should have seen me at the bachelorette party 11 days ago!) so I will definitely be raising a few eyebrows. I can probably fib through the wedding, but there's no way I'm making it through vacation! I didn't really want to tell family until 8-12 weeks...
kiwi / 739 posts
@ms.line: same all around. Just got invited down Dow my weekly wine Wednesday with the neighbor. I'm bringing down my copper mug and saying I was in the mood for a Moscow mule. (Filled with water). As for vacations- ay yi yi. We may end up getting caught.
I am going to ask for beers while in the lake at least once a day and then slowly pour it out. Hoping no one will see!? Who knows.
These are good problems to have though compared to our last months problems
pear / 1770 posts
@LibbyLou: I lol'd at the mental image of you pouring beers into a lake! Agreed, they are better problems to have, but I'm still on pins and needles. Think I'll "officially" join this thread after my second betas come back on Friday.
pear / 1998 posts
Can't believe I'm joining this thread! I'm trying not to worry and be optimistic until there is a reason not to be!

Who have you told? Just DH.
