If you had a party, did you and your DH find out first, then surprise everyone else with a party? (balloons, cupcake, etc).
Or did you find out when everyone else did?
We're going in for our anatomy scan on July 27. DH's parents are coming in for the weekend on the 27th too, so we were thinking about having a party.. I think we're too impatient to wait to find out with everyone else though

I love this idea but I am 99.9% sure I wouldn't be able to not look ahead of time. Plus I like the idea of DH and I finding out and just us knowing for a bit.
You can always find out and then do a party for everyone else.

We found out first and then had both our moms cut the cake to reveal the gender. We wanted to see everyone's reaction, and if we wouldn't have known we wouldn't have gotten to see their faces because we would have been more concerned with our own reactions!

We have a gender reveal party tonight for my husband's sister. They found out this morning and then we'll all find out tonight by biting into cake balls. They wanted to be able to find out together and have that special time with just the two of them.

We are doing our gender scan on the 26th and then travelling to see my family the 27th. Practically it'll be easier if we find out and then share with everyone. It would be fun to find out with the group, but I can't figure out how that would work and doubt I'd be able to not peek at the scan.

My neighbors did a gender reveal party recently. It looked from the pictures that they didn't know ahead of time. They had cupcakes that were iced either pink or blue and had their guests pick what they thought the gender would be based upon what cupcake they ate. They also had gifts that they opened which revealed the gender (not sure exactly how they pulled that off unless they brought up 4 outfits to the clerk and convinced them to wrap the ones that were appropriate).

we were originally team green, but my own impatient coupled with my husbands nagging has changed my mind. i told him the only way that i'll be okay with finding out the gender is if we can have a party, so that's our compromise!
we'll find out on a friday (all of our appointments are on fridays), and then we'll have a party that night to tell everyone else. i think we're going to do cupcakes or those cake pops. i don't want to find out in the ultrasound room -- i want it to just be me and my husband, so i can see his reaction and take it all in -- so i'm not sure how we'll do that. i do know that i want to know before everyone else!

omg so soon! can't wait to find out what you're having! we didn't do a gender reveal party or anything, we just went and paid for a private ultrasound around 16 weeks
