...that the tech couldn't definitively tell gender at the anatomy scan? Or experienced where the baby refused to show the goods during the scan?
I have my anatomy scan today and I always wonder how frequently that happens before I go in with each baby. I've had it happen to only one friend in person. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced that?

Yes, with my second there was no way she could tell at my anatomy scan. His legs were crossed and he refused to budge. We already had been told boy a couple weeks prior and were just looking for confirmation so maybe she didn't try too hard.

Our friends babe had legs crossed for anatomy. Got to go back later that day, were told 90 percent boy. Then had a rescan 2 ish weeks later turned out she was a girl.
I was totally nervous the same would happen to us but baby girl was cooperative.

Me. Baby was snoozing. I also didn't eat or drink for a few hours beforehand due to nerves so eat and drink! I had two coworkers who said the same and they went for elective scans to find out the gender. I had a follow up at 24 weeks to get some pictures of stuff they couldn't see and legs were crossed again despite movement this time. But we ended up deciding we didn't want to know after the first scan anyway so she didn't look too hard at the second.

@Mrs. Goose: Noted. The tech made me eat cookies during my scan last time to get baby moving so I'm planning on snacking on something night beforehand!!

@coopsmama: My heart skipped a beat that this actually happened to you! By now it should be a pretty clear gender. My babe was head down and then flipped so getting the heart blood flow was challenging but they took their time and got the pictures.

Our DD did not reveal her gender in our AS. We were TG regardless but the tech was trying to see it to put in the Doctor's report. In the end it was never figured out so no one had any idea her gender until she popped out... And my tired DH yelled "It's a boy!" (No no dear, that's a girl...)

It happened to me with my first. She just refused to position herself appropriately, even though she was moving around like crazy. We didn't find out that she was a girl until she was born!

One of my customers just shared that with her second the tech refused to give her the sex. The tech said she didn't have enough fluid to get a clear picture and know for sure. My customer's first was a girl and from the glimpse she saw on the scan she was pretty sure the second was a boy. A month later in her doctor's office they did an ultrasound and the baby was indeed a boy.

I think @rubies had two anatomy scans where the baby didn't cooperate. She ended up team green.

Yes, me. I had two scans with my 2nd where she was at a funny angle and the tech couldn't see. I had insurance issues and couldn't go back for a couple of weeks, so I didn't find out the gender until 25 weeks - it felt like an eternity!

Anatomy scan- cord between the legs
Follow up scan #1- legs crossed
Follow up scan #2- positioned in such a way they couldn't see
Scan because of reduced fetal movement- too big and scrunched up to see (it was around 34 weeks)
DD didn't want us to know!

Yes, I had to go back because my baby had his hand over his face (so couldn't get a good view of the nose/lip area) and his legs were crossed! But I already knew the sex through NIPT anyway.

I'm a sonographer and I'll tell you that it happens more frequently than you'd think. We were trying to take a peek at my babies gender since 14 weeks and she was butt down with legs crossed for 3 weeks making it impossible to tell. I was so bummed that I had the ability to see early and baby negated that, lol.
ETA: good luck with your scan today- hope it goes well and you get some good pics!

My first the tech didn't look until she was done and I asked but then baby wouldn't reveal. After I met with my dr the tech snuck me back and looked again and then baby girl was apparent.

@coopsmama: Congrats! The second baby was pretty uncooperative, so they made me drink juice and go for a walk, and luckily it did the trick.

My SIL had to have multiple scans to find out with my nephews, neither of them like to show off the goods. With #2 they were told girl at first. And a friends baby had legs crossed the whole time but they were team green so it didn't matter.
