@jaguar: coming out of lurking to wish you and baby the best. I went on bed rest at 29 weeks with twins. I was almost fully effaced and dilated at a 4. In my case my body was just ready to deliver those babies but they stopped my labor. I got the steroid shots and was in the hospital the rest of the week until they sent me home. I had the outcome of my twins being born at 30 weeks pretty much on the dot. (Just past midnight) the steroid shots made a difference. They both came out crying and were both over 3lbs. The had c pap for a couple of weeks and ended up in the NICU for 52 days total. We had an overall positive stay in the NICU. Today they are almost 17 months and running around causing a ruckus and healthy babies I will wall you pics of my babes. hopefully baby stays put for much longer. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you and baby!

Oh no!! I was 50% effaced and 1.5 at 30 weeks with my first and I did make it to 38 weeks laying on my side 99% of the day. I hope you squeak out another week. But you are in good hands! Thinking of you!

@jaguar: it's ok! You've gotten past most impt part. If it happens quickly you'll have a NICU stay, but I am sure it will be short! Hugs friend.

@jaguar: thinking of you! You must be so stressed. The good news is babies born around this gestation do very well! Hang in there and sending you lots of stay put thoughts

Thanks guys. I'm so sorry, I'm just a total basket case right now. Arrived at westmead public hospital and had contractions in the hallway - they settled with drugs (nursing staff freaked out and called delivery suite just in case!) but seems I was just anxious and dehydrated as they settled. I'm all set here now and we just have to continue all meds and see what happens next.

@jaguar: I'm so sorry that you got more bad news but the good thing is that you are in the right place and all you can do is just hope that she stays put as long as possible. All will be well!

@jaguar: I know you wanted to stay at the other place, but now that you've gone through the stress of actually transferring, hopefully you can rest knowing little girl will have the best care possible if and when she comes. Even though you are dilated, your water hasn't broken yet, right? Hang in there!!

Sending positive thoughts! Maybe baby knows she needs to come out a little soon for some reason, but you're in great hands and hopefully even if she does need a NICU stay, it'll be a short one!

On a positive note, getting to 30 weeks is good! Actually, you are very close to 31 weeks. Which is even better. You are in a better hospital equipped to taking care of your baby. Even if she comes soon, you did good, Momma!

Hope you can keep her incubating longer but if she comes early, she'll be in the right hands.

    Sending lots of hugs!!

ETA: If I'm too positive, you can tell me to shut up.

@Mrs Green Grass: The bag of membranes (despite bulging and trying to escape my cervix altogether) is somehow still hanging in there! They won't touch me with a speculum though, and are making me do my progesterone ... another way (ew) because they're wary of going near my ladybits!

  24. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@bluestriped bee: Not at all! I'm telling myself that every day. I'd love to hit 31!!

  25. erinbaderin

    pomelo / 5573 posts

@jaguar: For what it's worth, I did my progesterone that way and once you get over the ew reflex it's kind of....better. No discharge.

  26. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@erinbaderin: Does it work exactly the same way? I figured vag would get it straight to the ideal area!

  27. erinbaderin

    pomelo / 5573 posts

@jaguar: Apparently it's just as effective - I read one thing that said more effective. My doctor prescribed them vaginally and then a nurse recommended the other option because I was whining about the leakage and mess.

  28. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@erinbaderin: Well, I trust their judgement. And even the thought of ME going near my ladybits wigs me out right now - peeing is stressful enough, haha! So worth the weirdness and ick factor, I reckon.

@jaguar: You are so close to 31 weeks! I am glad you are at the bigger more equip hospital! I am sure it was stressful getting settled in but I hope things remain calm for a little while for you! I hope to see at least a few more bump shots before your little fighter makes her debut. Is the new hospital farther away from home?

  31. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@MrsRcCar: it is, unfortunately. Makes it a bit harder for visitors, but hopefully it's only temporary!

    @ALV91711: thanks love!!

  32. Mrs Green Grass

    pomelo / 5628 posts

@jaguar: im pretty positive my water broke when I sat down too hard to pee (their fault because they kept changing my room, toilets were different heights etc.) or maybe it's just my crazy brain, but sit down slow!!

  33. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@Mrs Green Grass: oh no! Honestly, I have to pee so much with all the pressure down there, I feel like it's inevitable that they'll bust on the loo at some point.

  34. Mrs Green Grass

    pomelo / 5628 posts

@jaguar: it definitely wasn't the peeing itself. It was sitting down super hard on the toilet because it wasn't where I thought it would be. Or them trying to make me use a bed pan. That was horrible!

  35. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@Mrs Green Grass: When the time comes for a bed pan, I'll be so sad, haha. I'm the most uncoordinated person around!!

  37. Mrs Green Grass

    pomelo / 5628 posts

@jaguar: a pregnant woman and a bed pan makes zero sense to me. Hopefully t doesn't come to it. I never actually used it. I tried, cried a bunch and then they gave me a bedside portable thing.

  38. Mrs Green Grass

    pomelo / 5628 posts

How's your mood? Getting any sleep?

  39. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@Mrs Green Grass: I'm ok mood-wise. The food is seriously getting me down, haha. I know, first world problem. But after the NICU tour yesterday I feel a lot more zen. So that's positive, right?

I'm celebrating hitting 31 weeks today BUT I also feel physically the worst I've been since bedrest. Crampy, sore butt and lower back, and a bit achy all over.

@jaguar: Look at that smile! I'm impressed. I would be a cranky whining mess at this point, you're kicking hospital bed rest butt!
