@Mrs Green Grass: Sorry things aren't going as well as expected. Like the others said though, getting to 25 weeks is another huge milestone. You and your little one are in my thoughts!

I've been creeping this thread and checking on you through your updates.
You are doing the very best job you could possibly do right now. We are here for you. You are obviously getting wonderful care and they will be prepared for when your little one arrives.

@Mrs Green Grass: Come on over and visit the October Mama's! We've had one baby so far this month, you will not be next, but please come on over and say hi!

Sorry to hear that things are progressing as positively as you/we all hope for, but I am definitely thinking about you lots and staying positive for you, your LO, DH and family!

@Mrs Green Grass: I wish I knew the right thing to say to make you feel better, or to make your body stop moving forward like this. I'm still praying for you and just know that you are in the best hands you can be in right now. At least you are there and they are prepared to help you IF the time comes. Hopefully after meeting with the NICU they can put your mind at ease. I'm always thinking of you and your DH!

I'm so sorry that things have not been going as you'd hoped the past few days. Though time is just creeping by, just think how much time has passed - almost 2 weeks! That is 2 less weeks that BBGG (baby boy green grass) will be in the NICU. You can do 2 more!!!!

One success story - my sister's cervix was shortened to 1.6 from week 28 on (and she was on bedrest til 37 weeks) and she had to be INDUCED! Try to keep the faith as hard as it may be. I found it very difficult to get excited for my son's birth after being on bedrest and hoping and praying I wouldn't go into labor for so long. It is indeed hard to flip the switch, but ultimately he'll arrive and you will indeed be excited. He will have the best care and you will be strong for him. You and your husband have a great attitude though - you should and will be very excited for his arrival. We all just hope it happens later rather than sooner.

I really really hope the doctors can help you keep that baby cooking for as long as possible! But I also want to say my next door neighbor had her baby girl at 24 weeks on the dot. And while they spent a long time in the NICU her little one is now a happy healthy 3 year old!! So remember that you can have a very happy outcome from this even if the little guy decides he just can't wait to meet his super awesome mama.

Just curious but you don't have to answer. I read on your blog that you went to a doctor in LA for an issue, has that Dr weighed in on why you might be having bleeding?

Maye we can have a virtual party for 25 weeks tomorrow. Praying for that little boy.

@Mrs Green Grass: No on the October moms board. we're both going to make it turn. I know your situation is worse than mine, but I'm praying for you.

@kayakgirl73: Good attitude! Let's do it

@Thehistoryofus: I didn't contact the doc...it doesn't seem like it really matters why i'm bleeding because they wouldn't really do anything besides deliver me - and they don't need to do that until one of us are in distress.

I like hearing the success stories. I feel very good that we are making it to 25...now each day will be a bonus.

A few other big dates to look forward to: on the 17th, the brand new antepartum unit opens and on the 30th the brand new NICU opens. If I could wait out those two dates it would be fabulous!

Still sending positive thoughts your way!! Hang in there!

My cousin spent this past summer in and out of the hospital and on bed rest from 22 weeks on. On Monday she was induced at 39 weeks with a perfect baby girl. She turned out to be an October baby after all! Here's hoping your little guy waits it out until his originally planned birth month too!

I know it is hard not knowing what to expect with your first baby, but he will be so worth all of this stress, hard work, and worrying when he arrives. Then again, that is when the worrying really starts, boys are a hand full!

Just found out a HS friend gave birth to her daughter at 26 weeks. Obviously they don't know how she'll fare long term but it was exactly a week ago and baby girl is already off the respirator. Every day helps!

@Mrs Green Grass: Just found this thread, how did I miss it..?!??! You are doing such a great job keeping baby in there cooking. I LOVE cross stitch-- the owl one you ordered is adorable!!! I did two birth records while pregnant with Wagon Jr. -- that reminds me, I have to stitch in LMW's name and birth info into the second one I did and get it framed! Haha. Cross stitch is a great way to keep your mind occupied!!

Baby GG, stay in there and get big and strong!!!!!!!

Please post if there's anything us Hellobee-ers can do for you!!! GO TEAM GREEN GRASS!!!

Sorry to be MIA for a day....

Short story: My water broke yesterday. That doesn't totally change things, but it's not great either. Now we have to watch for signs of infection. Most people deliver within 48 hours of their water breaking.

But...my contractions are almost totally controlled. I'm still having some, but I can barely feel them and it's only a few an hour. I feel so much more comfortable without the painful contractions!

I'd be shocked if Baby GG doesn't end up being an October baby and I have a feeling it could be quite soon, but I'm pretty prepared now and just hoping to have the days keep passing.

25 is MUCH better than 24 in NICU-land. (As is every day past today...)

(Scroll up for 25 week update)

More! I forgot to mention that they wouldn't let me eat last night in case I needed anesthesia. I've gotten way more popular over here and now anesthesia came to visit me. The good: they will let me eat, just not after 9 or before 8 (fine - I've barely been doing that anyway). The bad: they want a second IV line in my arm at all times in case we go into emergency-mode. F. Just hoping my nurse of the day is a good sticker. ; /

I feel like the bleeding is letting down, but it hasn't been long enough for me to say conclusively....

Just wanted to check in to see how you're doing. I'm sorry to hear that your water broke. When I was on bed rest, I would read as many stories of early labours as I could and I've read many stories of women who did not go into labour for at least a month or two after their water broke. So keep fighting! Hope your baby keeps baking or as long as possible. ((big hugs!!))
