Tell your 1,000 ways!!! I need more ideas!

I am not pregnant yet but I will tell how my sister told everyone.
Her and her husband have been working on their house this year. So they made a picture booklet of before and after pics. So on the last page the before pic was a pair of hers and his shoes by the door and the after was a pic of their shoes and a pair of baby shoes. So we gathered as a family for our monthly dinner and she handed out the books and everyone screamed!

DH came home to 2 digital PT (in a plastic baggie) on top of a tiny onsie for his favorite team that I had gotten just in case they were positive.

I went and peed on a stick, saw it was positive, and then went downstairs and said to my husband, "Don't freak out, but I think we're going to have a baby..." I was in shock, even though we were trying, I didn't think it would happen so fast!

For my parents, we just called them and asked how they felt about being grandparents again. With his parents, my husband asked how Obie (their dog) would feel about being an uncle, which backfired because for half the conversation they thought we were just getting a puppy!

We did much better with our gender reveal, I think. We made a video using puppets made to look like ourselves to make the announcement. It was a huge hit!

I made my DH go into the bathroom and look at the test before I did because I was so nervous. We then waited until our 8 week appt to tell our families. We had just bought a new home so I made a photo book on shutterfly giving them the grand tour (they all live up north so hadn't seen it yet), and the last pic was of me in the last empty room saying this would make a great nursery while pointing to my belly and then the very last page was of the ultrasound.

Our parents know that we are starting IUI, so they'll be waiting on news during the tww. I won't be able to surprise them, so they'll probably just get a phone call.

DH I just yelled for him to come look at the stick this time. Last time (miscarriage) I baked him cookies saying #1 dad. He took awhile to get it, lol.

For our parents this time, we waited until mother's day and got them both onesies that said "I love grandma". They both loved it!

We live overseas so couldn't tell anyone in person. We wrote an email from the baby.. it was super cute and everyone loved it. Some people even wrote baby a response back - I'm going to stick them in her baby book.

For Hubs, I just flat out told him, while holding the positive pregnancy test.

For our parents though, I made copies of our ultrasound picture, framed them with something that said "Expected March 2013", and wrapped them. Then we gave them the gift and said something like "Oh, we got you guys a present!" and watched them open it and their eyes light up! It was AWESOME!

DH found out over Skype as did most of my family. I can't actually think of anyone other than my SIL and coworkers that I told in person. I told my parents by first telling them that I had good news and bad news. Bad news = I wasn't coming home for Christmas. Good news = because they were going to be grandparents.

DH and I were trying so we were anxiously waiting the 2 week wait and I took a pregnancy test. We left the bathroom an let it do its thing and we both walked in there and saw the 2 lines together!! We were so excited we sent pics of the test to our parents. Nothing too exciting, next time I plan to make more of a scene with it

You all are so creative! For DH, I had been wanting to test starting at 8 DPO -- we were actively trying for a few months but this was the first month I knew we had timed everything right, thanks to my temping and charting. He told me not to test so early and to wait -- it was Memorial Day, I was 10 DPO and I promised. Then he went for a walk and I ran to the store to grab a FRER and it was positive, so when he came home I said, GUESS WHAT? holding the pee stick behind my back and he was like, YOU'RE PREGNANT? And he wasn't even mad I tested lol.

It wasn't until 8 weeks that we told our family, I'd had some spotting and I was nervous. My dad lives in town so once we had the heartbeat U/S and the spotting stopped, we told him on Father's Day, I gave him his Father's Day card/gift and then I handed him a picture from the U/S and said, we have another present for you also. It didn't look like anything though so his wife had to whisper to him that it was a baby!

For DH's family, they all live in New York so he just called them on the phone. Not creative at all lol

With my family, we put a hat on our dog that said "I'm going to be a big brother!"

With DH's family, we were doing family pictures and when DH and I were having our pictures taken we held up a banner that said "and one on the way."

Nothing overly creative for DH. He knew I was going to test that day, but we didn't think I'd get a BFP, just thought I was having a wonky cycle. Anyhow, he had to work late that night and didn't get home until close to 8 p.m. I knew he'd had a long day, so I poured him a glass of his favourite wine and had it waiting for him. When he walked in I said something like, "I know you've had a long day so I poured you a glass of wine." And then I toasted him, but my wine glass just had ice water in it. He caught on pretty quickly after that and got all teary eyed

We told my mum later that week by buying her a picture frame that said "#1 Grandma" on it. Inside the frame, I put a piece of pretty cardstock and wrote, "New grandma coming soon. April 2013."

For my dad and stepmum, we just told them a couple weeks ago right around Grandparents' Day. So I went to Hallmark and bought them a card that said, "You are the best grandparents in the world!" I crossed our "are" wrote in "will be" with a Sharpie. They were shocked and thrilled!

A friend of mine announced her pregnancy recently, by having everyone gather for a picture. Then her husband, who was taking the picture, said "On three, say **** is pregnant." They captured everyone's reaction on camera. It was really cute.
