I love reading stories, looking at photos & videos of the big reveal. I have thought of a 1,000 different ways to do it when our time comes (knowing me I will try to squeeze all of them together).

Nothing creative over here. I think I called my DH into the bedroom, and he knew I was going to POAS that morning, and I shoved the digital in his face. (I may or may not have apologized for putting a pee stick in his face.) As far as family, nobody lives nearby so they got phone calls.

I am not pregnant yet but I will tell how my sister told everyone.
Her and her husband have been working on their house this year. So they made a picture booklet of before and after pics. So on the last page the before pic was a pair of hers and his shoes by the door and the after was a pic of their shoes and a pair of baby shoes. So we gathered as a family for our monthly dinner and she handed out the books and everyone screamed!

First idea for telling my husband is to send him small gifts at work starting with a smiley face pizza (I occasionally do that anyways), then warm cinnamon buns, maybe a candy bouquet with Baby Ruth's (I don't even think he likes those). But I want to be there to see his reaction so I've thought about a gift with pink and blue balloons, some baby Gator gear, telling him I went shopping and ask for his opinion on my outfits then come out holding up a onesie. But those all seem so cliche.

DH came home to 2 digital PT (in a plastic baggie) on top of a tiny onsie for his favorite team that I had gotten just in case they were positive.

First time: told DH when he got home in the evening, Skyped our families a couple of weeks later. Second time: made DH go into the bathroom and see the HPT, told parents in person because we were just visiting. Nothing creative here...but we did make a little video for our extended family/ friends after first tri.

I went and peed on a stick, saw it was positive, and then went downstairs and said to my husband, "Don't freak out, but I think we're going to have a baby..." I was in shock, even though we were trying, I didn't think it would happen so fast!
For my parents, we just called them and asked how they felt about being grandparents again. With his parents, my husband asked how Obie (their dog) would feel about being an uncle, which backfired because for half the conversation they thought we were just getting a puppy!
We did much better with our gender reveal, I think. We made a video using puppets made to look like ourselves to make the announcement. It was a huge hit!

Not pregnant yet but ive thought about this. Dh I plan to just tell as soon as I get the BFP. I'll be impressed with myself if I manage to not tell him I'm testing before I go in.
Family, since we live far, I'm thinking we would at least try to do FaceTime, unless the timing works out that we are visiting soon anyway. Maybe showing them the ultrasound pic if we wait that long. Not big on big reveals- I couldn't hold it in.

I made my DH go into the bathroom and look at the test before I did because I was so nervous. We then waited until our 8 week appt to tell our families. We had just bought a new home so I made a photo book on shutterfly giving them the grand tour (they all live up north so hadn't seen it yet), and the last pic was of me in the last empty room saying this would make a great nursery while pointing to my belly and then the very last page was of the ultrasound.

DH was right there (well outside of the bathroom) when I took the test. And we just asked our parents to come to dinner with us..... they weren't surprised at all because they knew we were trying because I had a miscarriage recently and I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it this time in case I miscarried again.
So yeah, pretty boring.

Our parents know that we are starting IUI, so they'll be waiting on news during the tww. I won't be able to surprise them, so they'll probably just get a phone call.

Nothing too crazy, for DH I yelled after peeing on the stick (for the 5th time that week) that I think I see a line this time, and he's like "um i think I see one too" so I made him run out and go buy a digital test but it came back as an error. Well I was leaving to go visit a friend for the night 3 hours away, so I took another test wtih me and it was positive again so I sent him a picture of it and said "IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!"
For our parents we had lunch/dinner wtih each set and told them in person! We wanted to see their reactions! My niece asked me if I had a baby in my tummy before I could tell my sisters, my BIL had figured it out during the Super Bowl.

DH I just yelled for him to come look at the stick this time. Last time (miscarriage) I baked him cookies saying #1 dad. He took awhile to get it, lol.
For our parents this time, we waited until mother's day and got them both onesies that said "I love grandma". They both loved it!

We live overseas so couldn't tell anyone in person. We wrote an email from the baby.. it was super cute and everyone loved it. Some people even wrote baby a response back - I'm going to stick them in her baby book.

For Hubs, I just flat out told him, while holding the positive pregnancy test.
For our parents though, I made copies of our ultrasound picture, framed them with something that said "Expected March 2013", and wrapped them. Then we gave them the gift and said something like "Oh, we got you guys a present!" and watched them open it and their eyes light up! It was AWESOME!

With our first LO, I was bawling when DH got home from work. I had no idea how he would react since it was an unexpected pregnancy. We just called my parents and told his parents in person a few days later.

DH found out over Skype as did most of my family. I can't actually think of anyone other than my SIL and coworkers that I told in person. I told my parents by first telling them that I had good news and bad news. Bad news = I wasn't coming home for Christmas. Good news = because they were going to be grandparents.

My DH was there when I took the test. We got preg our first try. It was around thanksgiving and we were staying at my parents. I was already a few days late with my period, but I was choosing to ignore it. I figured if I had an early loss, it would be best if I didn't really know I was even PG. I suspected I was though. dH asked me about it casually and I told him I was late. He freaked and made me take a test right then. It was positive 
We were shocked!
For our parents, we waited until Christmas. I was 8-9 weeks and had had my first u/s. We bought each family a Picture frame ornament and put the u/s picture in it. Best Christmas ever. They loved it!

DH and I were trying so we were anxiously waiting the 2 week wait and I took a pregnancy test. We left the bathroom an let it do its thing and we both walked in there and saw the 2 lines together!! We were so excited we sent pics of the test to our parents. Nothing too exciting, next time I plan to make more of a scene with it

We were out of town visiting my grandmother (we are in MA she is in CO) but I had brought a bunch of tests with me. I sneakily woke up every AM before him to test, and one morning I got the first, very faint BFP on a cheapie! I snuck out to the local grocery to get a FRER and digi to confirm, as well as a little sock monkey onsie and bib (he gave me a sock monkey one year as a silly stocking stuffer). I confirmed with the FRER (digi wasn't positive that day but was the next) and wrapped the test up with the little outfit in a shoebox. I told him that I had found some shoes on sale for him. He opened the box and said how cute the outfit was, but he was confused! Haha. The line on the FRER was there but faint. He didn't know that a line is a line. Once I explained that he freaked out and hugged me and his face just lit up like a million bucks. It was a lot of fun. We are still figuring out how to tell our parents.

You all are so creative! For DH, I had been wanting to test starting at 8 DPO -- we were actively trying for a few months but this was the first month I knew we had timed everything right, thanks to my temping and charting. He told me not to test so early and to wait -- it was Memorial Day, I was 10 DPO and I promised. Then he went for a walk and I ran to the store to grab a FRER and it was positive, so when he came home I said, GUESS WHAT? holding the pee stick behind my back and he was like, YOU'RE PREGNANT? And he wasn't even mad I tested lol.
It wasn't until 8 weeks that we told our family, I'd had some spotting and I was nervous. My dad lives in town so once we had the heartbeat U/S and the spotting stopped, we told him on Father's Day, I gave him his Father's Day card/gift and then I handed him a picture from the U/S and said, we have another present for you also. It didn't look like anything though so his wife had to whisper to him that it was a baby!
For DH's family, they all live in New York so he just called them on the phone. Not creative at all lol

I picked up some "congratulations on becoming a grandparent" cards and handed them to each set of parents and we watched them open them together. It was fun!

With my family, we put a hat on our dog that said "I'm going to be a big brother!"
With DH's family, we were doing family pictures and when DH and I were having our pictures taken we held up a banner that said "and one on the way."

@sammyfab I have thought about doing that. Every Christmas the MIL makes a big fuss over family pictures & it has been my job the last two years to help set up the camera and timer. If we get pregnant before Christmas my idea was to set up two cameras one recording and one taking photos then time it & have everyone count to three; One, two, three, WERE PREGNANT! Eeeek I'm getting excited about the idea already!

Nothing overly creative for DH. He knew I was going to test that day, but we didn't think I'd get a BFP, just thought I was having a wonky cycle. Anyhow, he had to work late that night and didn't get home until close to 8 p.m. I knew he'd had a long day, so I poured him a glass of his favourite wine and had it waiting for him. When he walked in I said something like, "I know you've had a long day so I poured you a glass of wine." And then I toasted him, but my wine glass just had ice water in it. He caught on pretty quickly after that and got all teary eyed
We told my mum later that week by buying her a picture frame that said "#1 Grandma" on it. Inside the frame, I put a piece of pretty cardstock and wrote, "New grandma coming soon. April 2013."
For my dad and stepmum, we just told them a couple weeks ago right around Grandparents' Day. So I went to Hallmark and bought them a card that said, "You are the best grandparents in the world!" I crossed our "are" wrote in "will be" with a Sharpie. They were shocked and thrilled!

We decided we were going to start trying this spring. A couple weeks after DH and I returned home from vacation in March (where he conveniently "forgot" to pack any protection), I had a funny feeling I might be knocked up. I took 2 HPT's--one on a Wednesday, one on a Saturday--and both were what I thought was negative. The second line was so faint that it looked like more of a crease than a line.
Finally, Monday morning came and DH decided we needed a definitive yes or no, so he went to the store and bought a digital. I stayed downstairs to take the test, and he went upstairs to our home office to start work for the day. The test was an almost immediate positive! I ran towards the office where DH was trying to convince our aging dog to come upstairs. I basically climbed over the dog, test in hand, and handed it to DH. He said the look on my face was priceless!
We sat on the stairs hugging, crying, and in shock. He said he knew all along that I was pregnant and that he intentionally didn't pack any condoms for the trip because he wanted to knock me up while on vacation because it would make a great story.
As for the rest of the family, we spent all Monday morning making phone calls! There was no way we could wait to tell anyone...I'm terrible with secrets!

A friend of mine announced her pregnancy recently, by having everyone gather for a picture. Then her husband, who was taking the picture, said "On three, say **** is pregnant." They captured everyone's reaction on camera. It was really cute.
