We told our families and a few close friends right away. Then told the rest of the world after 12 weeks (my doctor cleared me to tell people after 10 wk ultrasound, but we still wanted to wait).

We told our parents right away (like, the same day we got BFP). We asked the parents to keep the news a secret, which was only somewhat successful.

We told best friends a few weeks after, and also asked them to not spread the news around too much.

I told my direct supervisor at about 8 weeks because there was some drama early in my pregnancy and I had to leave work a bunch for appointments and I didn’t want him to think I was a slacker (also, I was super, super sick so wanted to explain why I was in my office barfing all the time).

We “went public” on FB around 12 weeks, after the all-clear NT test and 1st trimester genetic screening.

We told my parents at 12 weeks. He told his Mom, who lives super far away and talks to no one, after our first OB appt. We told our friends after my Mom and Dad knew.

Last night my sister made me swear I wouldn't wait to tell her.

My family is really tight and it would be weird to keep it a secret, but I don't want everyone in my business until 12 weeks. I would want to tell my mom as soon as BFP, but she'll tell my dad and then there's no hope for a secret.

My cousin guessed and I told my best friend, DH told one of his brothers. We only found out a few days ago! I want to tell my parents but I'm petrified they'll be disappointed with me for some reason. Really weird, I know. We have our first appt Feb 13., at 8 weeks, then another on Feb 27 at 10 weeks. We will probably tell our families around there, and everyone else a few weeks later.

We told my immediate family after a positive beta HCG, as they knew we were going through fertility treatments. Told his fam on Thanksgiving since it was not too far away.

We didn't do anything cute to tell them the initial news. But when we found out it was twins, we just called and said we wanted to stop by and show them the ultrasound picture - which showed 2 babies That bit of surprise was pretty fun.

We told extended family at Christmas, around 10 weeks, after seeing heartbeats 3 times. I mailed photos of the latest ultrasounds, and a photo of hubby and I with "thing 1 and thing 2" onsies laid on my belly.

We told parents the week we got our BFP, and then wanted to wait to tell the world until I was 12 weeks. My sisters wedding happened when I was 7 weeks and it leaked through the crowd as the night passed. I facebooked about it at like 25ish weeks. Most people knew already, I just didn't post anything prior to that.

I would have waited until my first ultrasound but I was so sick everyone pretty much guessed that I was pregnant and I'm a horrible liar! I was 9/10 weeks pregnant when I found out and spilled the beans to almost everyone then.

We told our families at 11 weeks, on Christmas. We were mostly waiting for the holiday to announce it. If it wasn't around Xmas time, I probably would have told my parents a week or two earlier, and my husband's parents a week or two later.

At 14.5 weeks, we haven't told work or friends yet. We will be telling them soon.

I told my mom and BFF SIL the morning we got our BFP, DH's whole family (which is really quite small) at Christmas (7.5wks), and my dad, stepmom, and our best friends after our first ultrasound (8wks). DH told his coworkers after we heard the heartbeat last week (he was really super excited). We're waiting until after the we get the results back from the NT scan to Facebook it, which will probably be right around 13 weeks anyway.
