A friend of mine is 36 and she got pregnant after only a few months of NTNP.

7 cycles for the first, and 3 cycles with this pregnancy.

I was almost 36 when I got pregnant this time and it took 2 cycles.

A friend of mine tried 4 years for her first, who was born when she was 31. She decided she wanted a second way later and gave it a go without much hope. 40 years old and first try!

Um, first cycle for this one. I was shocked, lol. My first LO I had to have fertility treatments, so that took a while.

Following since we are starting next month and I will be 37

I got pregnant after 1-2 months of trying at age 35 and 37.

@ValentineMommy: I believe there can be a risk of you get C sections with back to back pregnancies. Perhaps that is what she is referring to?

I'm not quite there yet...(pregnant in 1 mos at 33) but both of my sisters had their babies (3 in total) at 35 or 35+ and all conceived within the first 2 mos of I'll say "mild trying" (i.e. thinking about timing but not charting...)

@BandDmommy: quality of eggs also impacts how long it takes to get pregnant (or stay pregnant?) because if eggs are of poorer quality = miscarriage.

@winniebee: True... Personally I think these threads don't really tell much because everyone is so different.. One person who is over 35 may get pregnant very easily and someone who is 21 may not. It really depends on the individual person. But I know my OB does warn that the older you get the higher your risk of genetic issues and that's true for everyone.
