I've spent about $600 so far. 4 pants, 3 dresses, 2 shorts, 6 tops.

It was about $250. I bought more towards the end because I couldn't fit into anything anymore....

I think I spent a little more than I wanted, and my mom even gave me a bunch of maternity since the ON where she lives carries it and the one here doesn't. I'm a teacher and have summer off so I scrub it most days in shorts and a tee shirt. As for buying on my own...(and I was adamant about not wearing maternity clothes for the longest time!)

That's about all I bought on my own. Everything else was given to me or borrowed. I can say this, I did buy maternity panties from motherhood and thought they would be a rip off, I totally wish I had bought more!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something... probably $180 for summer and I have some jeans I bought from a garage sale, a fall-ish jacket, and a few long sleeve ts from clearance when I found out I was pregnant in March.. so probably an additional $30 for fall adds.

I have been working part-time/from home for the past year so didn't have to buy any professional type clothes. I really feel for those of you who have had to!

That lasted me along with my regular clothes stretched over my belly all fall, winter and spring. I hated all of those clothes so much by 30 weeks! And I did laundry every other day. My coats I could still wear or else I didn't zip them. Also, I'm a SAHM so I didn't have to buy work mat. clothes or else I probably would have spent a ton more.

I spent more than I wanted as well, but that always happens for me.

I didn't have to invest in more formal wear, like dressy slacks, skirts or blazers because my workplace was casual. I had unexpected expenses in shoes though, because I did get swollen feet/ankles and none of my boots fit in the fall.

@JessLC: I am right there with you - and almost all of it was for work clothes (professional office) - just a couple of weekend dresses. I also had to order a couple of pairs of shoes in a half-size larger, to accomodate my swelling feet, and a couple of bras for mah (slightly larger) bewbs.

Ugh, it was over $1400.

I go to arbitrations (like court) at least once a week for work, so I had to buy a whole new professional wardrobe. Suits be expensive, yo!

I'm pretty sure I've spent well over $500, but I have to dress up for work everyday, so I can't get away with just buying t-shirts, jeans and yoga pants. Luckily the last three months have been summer vacation, so I've been able to get by with 3 pairs of maternity shorts. But with school starting, I've bought these maternity things:

* 2 pairs of capris
* 2 pairs of black pants
* 2 pairs of khaki pants
* 2 pairs of jeans
* 2 pairs of leggings
* 1 pair of pj's
* 1 denim skirt
* 5 dresses
* 10 tops
* 2 sweaters

Everything has been on sale or clearance from Target, ON and Gap. I have no desire to add it up, but it's not insignificant.

The rest of the stuff I bought was empire waisted dresses that werent in the maternity section and oversized tees

@yoursilverlining: Where did you find good maternity suits? I'm in a clerkship and will be all through my pregnancy, so I was wandering about where to find some lawyery clothes.

I would say between my two pregnancies I've spent about $800; which includes several pieces that are designed for nursing (pajamas and tops). I find this pretty good considering DD was born April 1 so my wardrobe was fall/winter and am due Sept 16 so I had to buy spring/summer this time around. Luckily I can wear jeans to work and was able to make use of most of my bottoms from the first time. I only bought things that were 1) on sale or 2) found at the consignment store or good will.

I think I spent about 800 over the course of my pregnancy. I should have avoided buying some stuff, especially dresses, early on, because the stuff I bought early didn't fit by the end of my pregnancy. The most worn stuff was pants - three pairs for work and two casual pairs, and knit skirts and tank tops from old navy- almost the only thing I wore for the last month (and I'm still wearing them a ton now 5 weeks post-partum).
