I spent $13 on LO's costume last year. I would say no more than $20.

@littlek: if it was an amazing costume and I had a bunch of opportunities for LO to wear it (school, trick or treating, maybe a party) then I think I could spend up to $40. If I had budgeted for it .... right now I have no costume budget

@littlek: I am going to be the outlier and say that I totally would (and the matching pail, too . . . ). But I did find this one on Etsy for $20!!!

It's really cute, but if it were me I would DIY it. If you know how to sew, it looks pretty simple to replicate.

I LOVE Halloween, and generally playing dress-up so I think I would pay more than the average person for a costume.

Do you think you could get more use out of it, or resell it after Halloween?

No I wouldn't. I spent $4 on A's monkey costume last year. I think $20 would be my limit, but practically brand new used is my style!

My max is $20, and i'm actually making hers this year and I"m shooting for $10-15 (with the undershits she will be able to wear again!)

That is a little high for my taste but it is so cute. I might be tempted but I think DH would be so mad.

No way. We borrowed a costume last year. If I dress her up this year it will either be <$20 or borrowed.

I spent under 30 for a pumpkin costume from Carter's! Actually bought the same costume 2 yrs in a row for dd.
DS will wear the smaller costume this year and dd will probably wear the bigger one again this year if it fits.

If you love the $89 costume, get it! It's your money! You can see if your Lo can wear it again next year, save it for your next child, give it away, or sell it.
