Downside of subsequent pregnancies, there is a toddler around climbing on top of you and possibly kicking your belly. Got a swift kick from a little toddler foot in my belly this morning. That'll wake you up a lot more than coffee!!

Once I started schowing alot DS stopped being rough with me. In the beginning I got my fair share of kicks and jabs from him though.

I started early telling DD that she needed to be gentle with mommy's belly and after first trimester starting telling her there was a baby there and she needed to be gentle with the baby. Now I'm almost 38w and she wants to sit on my lap/crawl on me a lot more so we have to have little talks about it all the time. I will say that if she gets too rough the baby fights back.

@Mrs. Sunglasses: Did it freak him out?? The other day the baby was kicking and DD was sitting on my lap but I don't think she felt it.

@Andrea: No I don't think he ever felt it. But I sure did. I found it so amusing that already there was sibling rivalry in womb. ha.

DD loved feeling DS kick; she wasn't scared at all! We did a lot of explaining that there was a baby in mommy's belly, she needed to be gentle, etc... and then we'd practice gentle touches and talking to the baby. DS was super strong so DD could feel him really early on; she loved it!

@Andrea: @Mrs. Sunglasses: A few of my close friends have had babies recently so I've been doing a lot of baby holding. I swear ANY time I pick up a baby my little one kicks the baby in the bum right through my belly!
