I hate Bikram yoga now...but if my friend hadn't dragged me there and I hadn't signed up for a 30-day challenge, I wouldn't have met my husband. I met him after class one night when I was walking to the bus (a bus I don't normally take). Thanks, Bikram!

I went to Mexico with some co-workers at the last minute for New Year's Eve. We were supposed to stay at our hotel for a party, but it was lame so we went to a bar instead and I met hubs there.

We were set up by DH's (female) best friend and my oldest friend. I met DH's BFF at my friend's baby shower. We were both training for marathons at the time which gave DH's BFF the idea. Scary to think how easily we may not have met.

We met in elementary school, but we never talked or knew each other. Our senior year of high school if DH had stayed in his AP classes we would have never ended up with 2 out of 4 classes together. We had (random) assigned seats and ended up sitting next to each other, and the rest is history! He was pretty much just being a slacker by choosing not to take AP classes but he got me out of the deal, lol!

We worked for the same company and I'd been interested in him in awhile but he wasn't sure that I was. If I hadn't given him a hug when I said good bye as I was leaving a particular conference he probably wouldn't have made a move.

If he hadn't found a random flyer advertising a job position that had stuck to his shoe as he was walking on his college campus he wouldn't have been working at my company and we probably wouldn't have met.

Started doing improv comedy. I took a 6 week workshop to help me be less shy when I meet new people and ended up being asked to join the troupe. DH was a member of the troupe's UK company. We met at the world league conference.

Quitting a horrible teaching job and moving to Atlanta where he was. Said I'd never live here.lol

I broke up with my boyfriend, was living at home with my parents, and had a crappy job so I went to temple to pray about it. That wasn't weird for me though, I love going to temple. Hubby on the other hand never went, but a group of them decided to go and pray for a friend who was about to be deported. If that didn't happen, we probably wouldn't have met. Which is weird because we've gone to the same temple our whole lives, but never noticed each other because he's 5 years older.

if i hadn't gone to korea, i really don't think i would have reconnected with my husband. i'd log online after hours (around midnight), which is the afternoon in EST. he was always studying around that time and we started chatting again (lost touch for a few years?) and then agreed to meet up when i got back from korea. the rest, as they say, is history!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do after college so I went to the library and opened up this big book of grad schools to see which ones had late application deadlines (since it was already past when many were due) and it turned right to the page of where I ended up going (and meeting my husband). I had no idea there was a grad school in that location and it was somewhat close to where my then boyfriend was going to school and it had a late application deadline. Decisions in life should probably be based on more than that but I wouldn't have met my husband if I wasn't so flighty.

I had 2 weddings on the same day of two former High School classmates. I went to the ceremony of one and the reception of the other. If would have switched the order or skipped the reception of the second all together I would have never met my husband who asked me dance! I think about this all the time!

If my friend hadn't been so exhausted from work, I never would have told him to go to Hawaii. If it were less expensive, we would have gone over winter break, but we couldn't afford it.

Then he was being an annoying travel companion so I said "I'm going to a bar" and he said "That's a great idea"
I said... "a different bar than you, I need some alone time"

And then I met my husband.

(If we had gone in winter, my husband would have still been in Iraq and I never would have met him).

@pastemoo: I know it's crazy how it worked out! Luckily the weddings were in the town, so it was easy to get to both.

If it wasn't for my friend dragging me to an event he was dancing for, I may have never met Mr. Boogs.

I would never have met my hubs if it weren't for me going away for university and meeting my friend, who ultimately introduced us.

If i hadn't worked at the pizza shop in college I would have never moved into the apartment/house owned by the pizza shop owners and never would have met my husbands best friend who lived the floor above us.

Going further back than that, At the last minute Senior year of HS i decided to go to the school in the city for fashion design instead of the school near the beach for marine biology

This one is easy! I definitely would never have met DH if my Dad hadn't gotten me an interview with my first company out of college. The job market was really competitive when I graduated and interviews were extremely hard to come by, even for people like me who did well at a great school. He knew the regional president of my first company and passed my resume along which guaranteed the interview. I did well and was hired and met DH shortly after at an off-site training.

And his answer is the same because his Mom got him the interview through connections too! So I guess we really have our parents to thank for our union

Well we went to preschool together and grew up in the same town, but we started dating after being in the same classes in 11th grade. He actually was dating one of my friends when we started liking each other. Eeek, as you can imagine, lots of teenage drama ensued.

I wouldn't have met my husband if it weren't for facebook. I had uploaded some pictures of a night bowling with friends. He went to high school with one of my friends that was bowling and was tagged in the pictures. My husband was looking through the pictures, saw me (whom he didn't know), clicked on my profile, thought I was "his type" and messaged me. I responded to the message with my typical, sarcastic response to messages like that which for some reason started a back and forth conversation which led to us meeting in person.

We're still too embarrassed to admit we met online so we typically just tell people we met through a mutual friend which is kind of the truth. It doesn't help that the first time we met in person was in a dark Wal-mart parking lot which doesn't exactly make me the smartest girl in the world since he could have easily been a serial killer.

I love reading all of these! My husband and I met in high school, but we became really good friends senior year because our AP Calc teacher made our class sit in alphabetical order--I ended up right behind my husband, and we started talking a lot, hanging out, and several years after high school we reconnected and finally got together.

After we got married we sent our Calc teacher a thank you card.
